Toledo, OH themed bar in DC area

I couldn't believe it when I read it. I'm from that area originally and have never heard of it. Anyone here know about this?? Pretty nifty.

Gad, this begs for parody. I'll start: does the bar staff muggers to jack your purse or wallet, or a crazed maître d' making ill-advised comments about airports and hearing-impaired folks?

I've actually been there before.

Didn't live in the Toledo area at the time, so I didn't think twice about the name.

I made a special trip there last time I was in DC. It's very Toledo. The decor is kinda half assed, but it's a great place to visit and have a beer.

They have a bulletin board that you can stick your business card on. They've got cards from all sorts of Toledoans, including me.

Here's the photo I took of the place:

Stopped by there frequently in my lobbying days. Good place to bend an ear or elbow.

Mary and Stephanie Abbajay, why do those names sound familiar?

Steph worked for Bush (41) in the Wordnet TV area....low level job, she didn't really like very much. She can drink you under the table though, as long as you are buying them.

Mana, There were Abbajays that lived down the street from me when I was very young in the early sixties. They owned a bar/nightclub. I think it was on Jefferson, and was called The Carousel or the Peppermint? Some thing like that. It seemed so glamorous at the time. Maybe the family owned other places, too? Maybe this is why the name's familiar?

love that neighborhood - except having to pay off the people who "assist" you in finding a parking spot. great ethiopian food on this block.
