Anyone else see this? Wasn't sure if they were flying across the whole county or targeting a specific area?
I saw it flying overhead when I was walking into the Giant Eagle on Central Ave. Probably around noon or so.

I saw the sign, Marcy didn't apparently. She said on WTVG this morning that she will be voting yes on the health care bill.
Why are they voting on a Sunday ?

Glad she's voting yes. Most Americans want this bill.

I think what you may mean is, " Most communists want this bill". Maybe they'll work on auto insurance next. I like that pre-existing condition deal, I have a few dents I could have taken care of.

If this health care proposal passes, will millions of illegal immigrants get FREE health care ?

A good friend can buy insurance for his old beat up car but can't for himself. Death panel is blue cross.
No one will get FREE health care. This bill will require that everyone purchase health insurance.

They don't have to offer health care to the illegals. That's because the next thing the commies will likely try to pass is some type of bill granting them citizenship.
Hey, they are going to need somebody to vote for them in the November slaughter. 226 more days.
I hope the plane flies in November. Now, at least we'll see a good, knock down drag-out fight this Fall!
Like the knock down drag-out fight of 2006 and 2008? I'm not worried. And episodes like this: http://www.tnr.com/blog/the-treatment/breaking-ugly-scene further solidify it. American's are sick and tired of the bologna.

I support the bill. I don't think it goes far enough to bring down health insurance premiums. But it's a start.
"It's been a busy week for McAvoy.
He organized a series of weeklong protests against the bill outside Democratic Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur's office.
McAvoy even spent $500 on an aerial banner telling Kaptur how to vote."

^^^^ Instead of spending $500 on a banner and all that time organizing protests, maybe he could think of his own solution to the healthcare issue.

" this health care proposal passes, will millions of illegal immigrants get FREE health care ?'
After Obama pushes his immigration reform and grants amnesty to all the illegals so they can become U.S. citizens, then they will get healthcare on our dime.Change you can believe in!

She's on her way out now. The next few months will fly by.
"Glad she's voting yes. Most Americans want this bill."
I don't know where you got that info from. The latest Rasmussen poll shows that only 41% of most likely voters approves of this health care bill.54% oppose the bill.

Well I feel much less free than I did a day ago. So when will I get my fine from the IRS for not having health insurance?
posted by Linecrosser on Mar 22, 2010 at 01:56:40 pm #
Of course there might not be anything to worry about. Nobodies gotten ANYTHING they were promised, starting in 2008. No gas cards, no car payment money, no nothing. And IMO, folks who have no insurance better wait "awhile" to set up that doctor appointment. After all, this prezs' promises have a 'shelf life'.
Who picked up the tab for that? Probably not an "ordinary person." You know, if the rich people of this country took half the time, money, and effort they put into thwarting progressive efforts, and instead put it into realistic solutions for the rationalization of an energy, economic, labor, and health policy, we would all be much better.

Did somebody promise you a gas card, Wulf? Sorry to hear you are so disappointed.

I'm confused. Why does anyone believe that this bill will reduce insurance premiums?
Tens of millions are being forced into the insurance system. That fact is not in dispute. That those millions are generally insurance liabilities is ALSO not in dispute.
So, what happens when an insurance system is loaded up with millions of extra claims? Claims in excess of what the current rate schedule allows for premiums?
The only rational conclusion is that PRICES RISE. So premiums across the board will rise. So most (if not all) of you with health insurance will be facing steep increases in your premiums.
That's Economics 101. I dare you to find a flaw.
im not worried about reducing premiums. i'm worried about getting coverage as a self employed pre existing condition citizen.
And, Linecrosser: The latest dope is that your fine will come rolling down the pipe in 2014.
I advise you not to pay it.
Actually, if premium cost isn't the issue, anyone (no matter what the pre-existing condition) already can purchase health insurance.
My mom purchased her own individual policy about a year after finishing treatments for breast cancer. It hasn't been cheap, but she didn't have any trouble obtaining a policy. (Which was worth the expense, considering that she relapsed in this fall after being in remission for 7 years.)
The problem isn't that people CAN'T get health insurance - its that the average person might not be able afford the premiums.
I don't think this bill will be successful in making care more affordable though. I suppose I'll have a personal example to watch, with my mom already being on a high risk policy - will be interesting see if her coverage cost decreases, stays the same, or (god forbid) increases.
"Actually, if premium cost isn't the issue, anyone (no matter what the pre-existing condition) already can purchase health insurance."
Sorry mom2, this is false. I have the rejection letters to prove it.
We were looking into a private plan because the employer plan is horribly expensive and doesn't provide alot.
Or worse, how about the stories of insurance companies dropped people once the got sick because they didn't list acne on their application. Cant do that anymore.
Insurance companies are in it to make as much money as possible.
I've never understood why people are so in love with private health insurance. To me, it's like handing someone your bag of 50 gold coins, and begging for two back once you get sick.
I would much rather hand over my 50 gold coins to the same group that everyone else in the country is, and know that my health problems are covered regardless, whether they cost two gold coins or two hundred.
And not have to worry about going bankrupt while I check under the seat cushions for more coins.
It is my understanding that the IRS will hire 17,000 new employees just to monitor the people to make sure they have purchased health insurance. How much is that going to cost the taxpayers and will all these new government employees be stuck with the same health care plan as us peons?I highly doubt that these new employees will be on the same plan as the rest of us.Also, will they be paying into social security or medicare?I doubt it!Why do people think that the answer to everything is more government?People today now say,ask not what I can do for my country, but what can my country do for me.Gimmee!Gimmee!Gimmee!

Jdmsbyrd -nope, actually I'm not wrong about that.
As I stated, ANYONE can already purchase health insurance if premium cost isn't an issue.
The problem is the AFFORDABILITY of the coverage.
(And you kind of proved my point by stating that you have employer coverage available, but its "too expensive." There are policies available that you could purchase on you own. For example, through the state's Open Enrollment. However, if you think your employer's coverage is too expensive, then you'd certainly not want to purchase one of those policies.)
I had a family member purchase their own private health insurance while being treated for early stage kidney failure (ultimately needing dialysis and a transplant), and my mom purchased private health insurance within a year of completing breast cancer treatment. Its not that coverage doesn't exist for sick people - its that the majority of people can't afford it.
Will be interesting to see what affect this legislation ultimately has on the prices.
mom - I am covered under wife's policy, which we pay...we were looking for a Non-employer based alternative that was less expensive...no dice with any "private company"...send me the names of the companies that covered your sick family and I will apply, then send you copies of the rejection letters.
