"Kowalczyk, the 18th UT men's basketball coach, will be paid $280,000 per year over a five-year contract."
OH oh,raise the tuition again.
Guess that explains the rumor of more layoffs.

Is there a "no trolling for chicks in Ottawa Hills" clause?

That's low for a Division 1 basketball coach. It's not fair to blame his salary for more layoffs. He coaches a revenue generating sport, and I'm sure the athletic department makes enough through football and basketball ticket sales, tv contracts, and related apparel and licensing fees to cover all the coaches salaries combined.

I guarantee the UT athletice department is not self-sufficient.

There are a couple of things wrong with this statement.
1) TU basketball program is more like a division 4 program.
2)It would be pretty hard to generate revenue when there are only 300 people in the stands.
TU? How old are you?

1) Wow "TU"? LOL Yeah...
2) If the program can turn around and begin winning, that will get fixed. However, the university has been stricken with crap coaches who don't know how to exercise discipline.
Of course what do I know. Hearing of a head football/basketball coach being paid less than a million a year (more like 3-5 million) isn't heard of down here in these parts. :-P

It will always be TU...always, otherwise you're a damn fer-in-ner

UT or TU either way they suck! Why not pay the coach per win? Not even the new renovation of the arena can or will put people in the seats or manage to get good recruits. I bet the girls team would beat the men's. Go Redhawks!!!!

"Why not pay the coach per win?" well, because there would be point shaving and...never mind

Don't expect a miracle. This will take at least two years to repair the damage and get better players recruited
