Question about a Recipe for Arab Style Lamb & Rice.

Hi, for Easter I want to make arabic style rice with lamb. Questions are:

Where do you suggest to buy lamb?

Do you have a good recipe?

Is there a place I can buy the seasoning all prepared?

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks

you can get good lamb at the toledo market on door, or the middle east market (also on door)

also, both stores would sell all the seasonings you'd need

Meijer's is selling lamb for $3.69/lb. Do you think the Toledo Market would beat that?

quality wise, yes

This is the way I am making mine this year, but it is for shanks. I figured it was ideal since I am going to be cooking it somewhere other than my own home and want to prepare as much as possible in advance.

Ali's on Sylvania near Secor.

He can give you a recipe too.

That place scares me. I went in there years ago and it was way too hot in there!

That recipe looks really good. I will give the Toledo Market a call!

Thanks!

Go to Costco - great meat department.

I was at Ali's 3 weeks ago... no problems while I was there. Temperature was fine.

This is what we made for X-mas dinner at the G house.

It came out great and while we do a lot of cooking at home, we had never made this before.

We got the lamb from Costco at a great price and very high quality.

The lamb at Meijer's looked really fatty. It looked pretty good at Costco and kind of scary at the Middle East Market. The spices at Meijer were also outrageously expensive compared to the Middle East Market and Toledo Market. Toledo Market had all the seasonings I need already pre-packaged together for about $1.50. If I had gone the Meijer route and bought the spices separately it would have been more like $20. The cardomom there was about $12 for about 2.5 Oz.

Lee williams sells ground lamb. I use it sometimes instead of beef to make my Kafta's.

Where is Lee Williams at?

ilovetoledo, there is a Lee Williams "House of meats" in Rossford next door to rite-aid just around the corner from the main street into rossford. There one on Starr and Wheeling and Most Anderson's store has a Lee Williams in them by their Deli. (I don't know if they all carry ground Lamb, but i know the one in Rossford does because thats where i get mine.

Also check out this recipe, instead of ground beef, use ground lamb. I fried it and place it on a bed of plain rice and steamed veggies. Its awsome,. also i added nutmeg too.
