Found Dog: Secor-Laskey Area

"Peppers" is a small female mixed breed, probably a Westiepoo, who we found near Secor and Laskey. Further information about this lost dog is on my blog, but here is a quick picture of this little cutie:

Peppers has a tag that reads "5422 Harschel" as her address, but the house is vacant. My contact info is available by clicking on my ToledoTalk screen name to my profile.

historymike,I looked up that address on Areis Online and it states that the house was sold last December.I hope the owner of that house didn't just abandon the dog.The previous owner of that address is also listed on the county website.

If the previous owners abandoned that dog they should have their asses kicked!

Historymike's blog has a comment on it that provides a link to a Craigslist posting about a lost dog. The description sounds like it could be a match. Crossing my fingers... and also glad that there are people like historymike around!

Yes - good news. Dog and owner reunited - they moved from the other house and had not yet updated the nametag, but all is well that ends well. I knew that Peppers recognized her mama, that's for sure - that was one happy little poochie!

Tell us the story Mike sounds heart warming, and now a days every little bit helps....right ?

Someone saw my post and linked me to a Craiglist lost-and-found. I called the owner, who lives less than a mile from my house, and I drove Peppers over. She started wiggling and wagging her tail as soon as the owner came outside, and it was a joyful reunion.

For the fun of it I checked out Toledo's craigslist site and came across this in their volunteer section.

Pet Parenthood is looking for volunteers for coming fund raiser/craft sells.

A happy ending for a little dog and its owner. Thanks, Mike.

Kudos Mike. It's no small thing you did. That owner is very lucky that you were in the right place at the right time to find her doggie.

Funny timing. Last weekend my son found a dog, and then managed to find the owner. But he pointed out that it would have been easier if the dog info on the collar included a phone number.

I immediately went online and ordered three rubber tags for our dogs. I put their name, my home phone and my google voice number. I figure at least one of those numbers should be good for a few years.
Received the tags in four days, and the total cost with shipping was under $13.00. Well worth it if one ours should wander away. And now they're really stylin' with their new bright red tags.

Thanks, historymike, for all your efforts at reuniting dogs with their families and being fosters for others.

Microchips are also a good idea in case the dog and collar become separated.
Pretty much every vet and or animal shelter has the necessary hardware to read the microchip.
So glad to hear of the happy reunion! I just can't even bring myself to think of losing my dog. It would be devastating.
Way to go Mike! Special place in Heaven for folks like you.
