So if(When) Crystal returns home for the hometown taping of American Idol before the finale, do you think they will have it in her hometown(Elliston) or do you think they will have it downtown Toledo? I know that Elliston is VERY small so I wonder if they will have it somewhere in Toledo. Plus she worked and performed at The Village Idiot in Maumee so maybe downtown Maumee might be a good place for it. If not I think that Fifth Third Field would be a perfect place for thousands of people to come honor her.
Crystal Bowersox Hometown Visit: American Idol

I hadn’t thought about that. I am sure the small town vibe of Elliston is intriguing to producers, but I think 5th/3rd would be awesome. I definitely would be going.
I have not watched Idol this intently since the first season. I literally choked up last night when Crystal did. (I’m a softie)
I'd go too :)

I hate to admit watching the show-but if it's only for her I guess it's alright. Her choice of "people get ready" set the hook in me. It's a shame they only allow the 1:30 second version. I'm in.
I think 53rd field is a GREAT idea! Unfortunately it's up to the producers and Crystal where they want to hometown visit. I would go!

Latest odds (I'm going with the 7/2 guy):
Aaron Kelly 25/1
Casey James 7/1
Crystal Bowersox 2/3
Lee Dewyze 7/2
Michael Lynche 12/1
Siobhan Magnus 15/2
Tim Urban 50/1

It might even to to Oak Harbor which would be where she went to HS...
5/3d would be an awesome venue. I would go. Hopefully, officials will proclaim it
"Crystal Bowersox Day." Even if she doesn't win, she still made the hometown proud and there should be a parade or some type of appreciation for her enormous talent.
Idol has done it both ways. Both to the home town and to the larger area city.

I Just drove past the Toledo School for the Arts: http://www.ts4arts.org/
And saw a big banner proclaiming that Crystal went to TSA
it would be cool if she came back and did a performance for the kids!
I'm curious to know what you all think of her as an artists/singer. thanks
I think she is great. A natural talent. She has not had one bad performance yet and they don’t know what to say anymore.
I thinks so too but have read reviews from the LA Times etc. that are not quite as kind. Not bad, just not great "unremarkable voice" kind of stuff.
My response to that is that she's growing and developing.
And consider that they are probably only going by what they see on Idol. Listen to some of her original stuff online. She’s the real deal.
I have. It great. I don't know the Idol format. Do they ever get to perform their own stuff?
That gir's singing just blows me away. If she doesn't win, then there's something wrong with that show. I hope it doesn't get too stressful for her and she drops out.
Not as exciting as a 5th/3rd homecoming, but I will probably go just because of the hometown excitement and I love that arena!
It's a nice midsized venue. It worked for Elton John...very well
Bowersox in Mudville?
Idol contestant might sing national anthem

TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - If Elliston's own Crystal Bowersox makes a hometown visit as an American Idol top 3 finalist if she advances next Wednesday, she'll be singing the national anthem at the Mud Hens game.
Toledo hosts Indianapolis Friday, May 14, at Fifth-Third Field, the start of an eight-game homestand for the Hens. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Bowersox is competing against Lee DeWyze, Casey James, and Michael Lynche to become the next American Idol.

I got my tix!!!
I cant wait for this to happen. Hopefully she chooses her song wisely, and knocks it outta the park! Since my wife is a manager at Packo's at the Park, she has been trying to get Crystal in and sign a bun.

Season 9 of American Idol is getting closer to its climax and despite the lower ratings of the once extremely popular reality show, odds on the winner are still attracting plenty of bettors. This week we are down to just four American Idol contestants - Casey James, Crystal Bowersox, Lee Dewyze and Michael Lynche, so let's take a look at the latest betting odds on AI9, as posted by the popular online bookmaker Bodog Sports.
One thing is certain in the Final Four of the American Idol 9, it's going to be a two-horse race. At Bodog Sports the current American Idol odds are split on who the winner will be this year, as both Crystal and Lee are sharing EVEN odds to win, i.e. if bettors wager $100 they will make only $100 profit. What's even more amazing - this is the first time in nine seasons of the American Idol where we have two contestants with even odds to win this late into the competition. The sportsbooks have usually favored two contestants in the final four, but one of them has always edged the other in the odds. There is some silver lining in this year's American Idol odds, however. By this time in the previous years' odds, the favorite American Idol contestant is always paying on very small odds way below the even money mark, so at least the late AI bettor can take advantage of the decent payout.
Florida native Michael Lynche is currently the underdog of the 9th Season of American Idol with odds 15/1 to win the competition, while Casey James is sitting on odds 10/1 to be the next American Idol winner. This could be translated in another way - according to the odds makers, Michael is the most likely contestant to be voted off American Idol next. Keep an eye on our website as we will continue to bring you the latest odds on the American Idol as the show progresses in its final stages.

Anyone here her song "Holy Toledo"? Was on 92.5 this morning, what a lovely voice.

Nice little gathering so far at by the stage as people 'claim' their prime spots. There's a few news trucks one from Indy even. It's going to be nice watching from up here on our floor :):):)
Totally jealous! I watched last night on Fox Toledo, and the radio interview on 92.5. Very impressed to the kind of person she is! She is going to explode on the music scene!

Ann, I'm in one of the buildings that overlook the Square;) Clear view of the stage.
Saw her on Fox last night singing, and well, she can SANG, not just sing (and she's pretty!). We are talking about it here at work, about her already having a contract in line even if she doesn't win Idol.
Also glad that the weather cooperated for her visit. Should be a beautiful night at 5/3 if the clouds hold off.
Good for Crystal. What would happen if someone really important came to Toledo besides a karaoke contestant. Heavy sarcasm.............sigh...........back to my nap.
My wife, the manager at Packo's at the Park, just handed Andrew Z and his crew some hot dog buns to give to Crystal to sign!

In the words of Rodney Dangerfield "WHAT A CROWD, WHAT A CROWD!" I watched it from the parking garage rooftop and it was nice seeing a buzz in this city during daylight hours. I was told that back in the 50's and 60's this was how Toledo used to be at night! at any rate, today, we saw a true artist and civic pride occured.
draven: did your wife get lucky and get a bun signed? would make a nice addition to Packo's.

I was checking out YouTube. I have heard of Lady Gaga and decided to check out her singing (or rather mixing). If you are comparing someone like Boxersox (who seems to be mostly acoutic) to someone like Lady Gaga (who seems to rely on the mixer for her voice) they are both good in their own way. I found an example of Lady Gaga without a lot of mix accompanying herself on the piano. She does seem pretty good but I prefer Crystal Bowerxox with a guitar and one backup person.
