Home made sushi revisited

Ok - first I took some TT posters' advice and went out on YouTube and learned a bit about making sushi. I put together a list of what I thought I needed and headed out to the Asian Grocery.

I went to the one on McCord and Dorr. When I went in the door, the lady behind the counter asked if she could help me. I said I was going to try to make sushi, and she says "so you need everything?"

I kind of laughed and said yeah, and she proceeded to run around the store handing me things - then gave me advice on everything I could think to ask.

I went home and had already decided I'd start with your basic california roll... My wife said they came out as good as any she's had from the restaurants around town

Good work! It's not easy the first go 'round, but it gets faster and easier to roll as time goes on. My hubby made some tuna, salmon and tempura rolls for dinner this evening. Yummy!
