Just had dinner at Nick's Cafe on Reynolds near the turnpike entrance and I was astounded by the enormous portions of food. My salad ($7) was heaped onto a platter and pieces kept falling off as I attempted to eat. Spouse got chili mac, which also covered the large platter.
Just receiving this amount of food made us feel like gluttons. The waitress offered to bring us take-home boxes after our first 30 seconds of eating ... and it was easier to eat, if you scrape off half your portion and try to attack the rest in-house.
We also saw a gi-normous omelette being delivered. There are many different items on the menu, from fish to Mediterranean specialties (plus pancakes and breakfast). If you're hungry, or you want lots of leftovers, visit Nick's before he finds out that he's serving w-a-a-y too much food for the price!
My salad was very filling, and I had the remaining portions for 2 more meals. Spouse's chili mac also became 2 complete lunches. It's insane!
lol, I love food reviews like this! Thanks, viola!!
It's been years since I have eaten at Nick's...obviously things haven't changed. It was always the best hangover cure...a mountain of greasy food does the trick every time!
hmmmm, sounds like a candidate for a Triple D episode, no?
Their Mediterranean breakfast is awesome too.
I second the "hangover" cure restaurant on a Saturday/Sunday morning
Stuffed French Toast with cream cheese and strawberry, blueberry, apple or cherry topping.
My office is nearby and I always wondered how the food quality might be... so, everyone agrees that it's someplace that a person who loves his food should try?
Sounds good will give it a try tonight. Reminds me I need to go back to that Pizza place in Point place that Historymike recommended.
I'm starting to think you could eat out at a different place every night for a year and still not repeat a place around Toledo metro lol. We have lots of good places here.
I love Nicks. I only wish my arteries were 18 again and there was no such thing as bad cholesterol...
