STEM Education: Critical Partnerships for the 21st Century

Thursday, May 13 at 8:00 p.m. on WGTE HD and streamed live on Knowledge Stream

Our region's next generation needs to be prepared to live and work in a world where an understanding of science and technology can make the difference between success and failure. A local commitment to increase the focus on STEM Education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) will make today's students more globally competitive as working adults, and Northwest Ohio will thrive. WGTE Public media, WBGU TV27, UT3, Ohio STEM Learning Network and the National Governors Association, present a special televised Town Hall on Thursday, May 13 at 8:00 p.m. This program will be aired on WGTE and WBGU TV.

Following the broadcast at 9:00 p.m., you can participate in a live web discussion at www.knowledgestream.org.

Join other students, educators, parents and business leaders for a discussion on how we can all support STEM education for a brighter future.

Sadly science education is too politicalized in America and it’s not good for America in the long run.

Yes, there are science-challenged denialists who don’t understand the ground rules of science. They are certainly entitled to their opinions but cannot legitimacy claim to be participating in scientific debate.

I'm not sure why the article refers to the bill as a 'jobs bill' as it re-authorizes the 2007 COMPETES Act which in the past had been supported by Republicans.
