I felt like commenting on this place because I had never been there and was so impressed. Nice old school ambiance, varied menu selection and fantastic service. Highly recommended.
It is in Sylvania on Main Street in a strip type mall. Check it out.

It must have changed, a couple of months ago we went there on a friday at 7:30 and there was only one other couple in the place, service sucked and the food was nothing special. might have to give it another try
I used to cook with a guy that was a former line cook there, and he had good things to say about it (cleanliness, food quality-wise).
I've never been there, but I really dislike the name. "Southbriar". It sounds like a golf course or an apartment complex. Is it just me?
There weren’t many people there when we were there either. The bartender was doing double duty with tending bar and waiting on tables. He poured my drinks right at the table and since he didn’t have to worry about spilling he filled them to the brim. We ordered oysters Rockefeller, potato pancakes, a perch basket and pistachio encrusted swordfish. Everything was delicious. I see that the menu has changed a bit already. I like that they do that too.
We went there a while ago and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. We both had German dishes and we thought the food was good.I am hoping to get back there some time.

I agree, it really is a terrible name. Reminds me of a golf course as well
All through the winter, they had an incredible deal on chili if you sat at the bar. One cent per degree of temperature outdoors, so on a cold 39-degree day, you could have it for 39 cents.
The older folks in our neighborhood love the place; they feel they are not getting ripped off on liquor prices.
For a German/Polish/Hungarian town like Toledo, they could really capitalize on the excellent German menu. I don't think they advertise at all. Good food; I'll go again some time (maybe with elderly guests :-)
Closed! There are new owners on the scene. Stay tuned for a new restaurant in that location.
That is one of the best locations in the city to have failing restaurant.
That and Holland and Dussel.

As a Lourdes alum, I think the smart money would be on putting in a restaurant/coffee house that caters to the non traditional student AND general Sylvania residents. Tons of students drive by that corner on the way to class. The Subway in that plaza does a big Lourdes business.
I don't really care for the new dining hall, and that location is ideal for people like me while the University caters to the traditional student
