Hollywood chews up and spits out another one. The way those phonies built him up into a big star and literally shut down every attempt he made to be someone other than "Arnold Jackson" on TV, movies, stage, whatever is sad.
Throw on top of it that his parents were scumbags who spent every cent he made from "Different Strokes", leaving him with no money for his adulthood, and you have an incredibly sad story. The last 20 years, he has been a punchline. I can't imagine that kind of burden on such a young man (being washed up at 18).
I think it was Gary Coleman's case against his parents that got the laws changed in California that a percentage of all child-actor earnings must be held in trust until the child-actor turns 18.
Death in 3s...first Gary Coleman, now Dennis Hopper (succumbed to prostate cancer at age 74)
I hope in the after life he can finally learn what Willis was talking about.
