Weather: Toledo or Lynchburg

With WSPD Program/News Director Brian Wilson conducting business from 500 miles away, one wonders who is watching the store when severe weather comes in. Example: Toledo, temps falling to the upper sixties as thunderstorms , winds and hail move through the listening area while at the Wilson estate in Virginia it is sunny and in the 80's. On the air in Toledo, its a holiday and the "best of's" reign supreme with no hint of threatening weather. Great public service radio. WSPD is just a shadow of its former self.

Easy solution. Stop listening. If you don't agree with how they are doing things now, don't patronize them.

I agree with what the guy before me said. Don't like them, don't support them.

Toledo Skywarn on a handheld 2-meter or any radio that can receive 147.270 MHz, or http://www.nwoskywarn.org/District1/ or http://www.lucascoskywarn.org/ will do the trick quite nicely.

We don't need no stinkin' commercial radio, lol.

prairieson: agree 100%

I'm an official Skywarn spotter and training to be a net control for Wood County. Good stuff.

Cool! I'm in the Skywarn system as well. Now I've just got to quit stalling and actually take my radio test.

prairieson: next time I hear about a class/test will post it here. USually they have at least 1-2 during the summer. It's pretty good that's how I started out and you take the test the last day. Good thing is you find out within a couple hours if you passed or not so you can start talking on the radio that day. Just have to let ppl know you passed but waiting for the actual license. Forget the sign for that offhand doh.

Just need to take the test, I've taken classes (including code) a few time and have been self studying for years. Just need to actually do it, lol. Thanks in advance for the heads up.
