After seeing the reports from Delta and Whitehouse, I'm glad that we evacuated the air traffic control tower at the airport.

When we reopened, the airport had to close because of pink insulation, siding, and other building materials on the runways.

Imagine that, all those reports from amateur radio operators. Shows that modern technology cant beat good old know how. Even with all the crap on and around the runway I bet planes could still land, taking off again might be a problem after the flat tires and FOD damage.

I am a ham operator and checked into the net last night...I understand a friend of mine, who is also a ham and a former newsman in Toledo, fed a lot of the hams reports to channel 13 where they were reported as having come from the ham operators. Good job to my fellow hams and to Bill and channel 13.
