Yesterday while making our way from Sylvania to South Toledo, we drove down Centennial Rd. until it dead-ended into Angola Rd. Turning left onto Angola and heading to Albon Rd., on the left-hand side was a bunch of what looked like old parade floats. One of them was a huge picture of a few kids that said "LCCS took them away." Does anybody have any idea what the deal is? It was just very very odd. I've never been out that way before so this is the first time I've seen it.

Actually, I know what you are talking about and have seen it as well. My husband and I were just talking about it in fact. I too would like to know more.

Same here. It says LCCS stole them and sold them. hmmm..
oddness. mom in law lives out that way and I've seen it many times, always figured it was an old carnie who got stuck with some rides when the business folded. havne't been by lately, haven't seen the sign, sounds like they weren't taking any better care of the kids than they were the equipment. ;p
LCCS means Lucas County Childrens Service. Make your own conclusions.
Yeah, that is near Angola and Centennial I think. This is the same guy who was driving a giant sign around the Courthouse about someone taking away his grandkids (LCCS = Lucas County Children's Services). I don't know where that stuff in his yard came from, but he also (unsuprisingly) has an ongoing dispute with the Springfield Twp. Zoning Department about his right to display that stuff. I know he used to have an old outhouse with a sign on the side that read "Springfield Twp. Zoning Office."
Tom Anderson - 8246 Angola Rd. Has run unsuccessfully a couple of times for Springfield Township Trustee. Ran last fall. Very, very old family in the township. Had a successful trucking company - Anderson Trucking - for a lot of years. His son, also Tom, has the company now. He's well respected and still operating successfully. Don't know what the deal is with the kids. The elder's battles with zoning are legendary. I think he was a staunch supporter of the local kids atheletic leagues. In spite of his business longevity and success, and being very well known in the township he was always the low vote getter.
Well known doesn't always translate into well liked...business success aside.

I think people like him well enough. It's perhaps the perception of a lack of intellectual depth in some areas.
Anderson is an eccentric, to be polite. He got nearly 20 percent of the vote for Springfield Township trustee last November 3 against 23 percent for incumbent Bob Bethel and 23 percent for Helen Durrah. How someone so odd could get that many people to vote for him is hard to fathom.
ok, that's so not what I thought I was seeing while speeding by, wow.
Interesting that, although its been there for years, suddenly it has disappeared.
