Can't wait !! My favorite festival of the season. The food, the beer, the music, the beer.....
Did I mention the beer?
Last time I went I am not sure what was more annoying; all the bugs or all the drunks.
I will take the Greek fest any day over all of them really.
I know the wife & I are ready. It's the best festival in NW Ohio... in my opinion.
I'm obviously old as I was thinking of a differnet GAF, and wondering why they would have a festival.

They have a grilled cheese (3 cheeses) sandwich. Grilled in butter. Oh Man!

Polish
Greek
German
They all have drunks at them. I do enjoy the German fest every year. Can walk from the house and enjoy !
Looking forward to seeing lederhosen, good music and good food. Funny you post this cause I just thought about GAF this weekend when I went to the Tornado Survivor Relief concert at Metcaf field.
Now I'm craving german potato salad and grandma's beet pickled eggs.

i am so ready for the foooood! mostly the BEER~!:) das booot
And beer........and potato pancakes, sauerkraut balls, beer, roasted almonds, Weinerschnitzel, beer, bratwurst, beer, The Cheese Haus, beer.........oh, I am so grateful I have a designated driver.........the beer......"Drink The German Flag".........Jaegermeister..........
Ugh. Used to love me some Jaegermeister. Then one Sunday afternoon things got out of control at a bar and I vowed never to drink it again. I think I passed out at 7pm that night. I can’t even smell the stuff anymore without getting a watery mouth – and not in a good way.
Yep. Feel the same way about Pina Coladas. Drank them to excess 30 years ago, hugged the porcelain god for too long and haven't gone near one since.
Didn't realize GAF came so early, really thought it was an "Octoberfest" kinda event. From their website it's August 27, 28, 29 this year. So almost a month away :) woohoo

Can't wait! Just 2 more days :) My ex-fiance and I picked up tickets online. 2 day ticket special for $10 each.
Stomach is already grumbling for sausage, pickled eggs, and potato salad.

Drunks at all the fests, it's just part of the deal. As long as they are having a good times and don't puke or spill their beer on me it's all good. I'll be too busy drowning myself in the fine cuisine to worry about them.
Can't do the Jaegermeister anymore, to many scars and half memories from Black Gold to travel down that path anymore.
EINS ZWEI G'SUFFA!

My German is a bit rusty Molsonator. I get the "ONE TWO" I don't get the "G'SUFFA" ??
Booze/Quaff I think. They say it after almost every song. Everyone holds their drink up, then drinks. Man I can't wait! I enjoy seeing the older people 70s 80s in age who embrace the festival. My grandfathers parents were from Germany on my Mom's side and my Dad's side.

Did I mention all those drunkin frauliens too?

If you're going, check out the Web site first. Tickets are $1 off if you buy them online.
Peel a fraulien from the herd. Seen it all at this festival over the years. Nothing I see this weekend will surprise me.
Zicke zacke zicke zacke hoi hoi hoi!!!

And you can buy a two day pass for $10 or all three days for $15 online. Good deal.
See you at the entrance gates tomorrow - promptly at 6 pm. If you're late, I'll drink your beer too.
Anyone know what day and time is the sports contests? Tried finding it on their website but haven't found it yet.

LAST NIGHT WAS GREATTTTT! GOING TONIGHT AGAIN!! WOOOT! NOW SCCHHHWIMMMM LOL
Remember that old song "I want a girl, just like a girl that married dear old dad"?
When I was in high school a kid sang a different version of it...
I want a beer, just like the beer that pickled my old man;
That was the beer and the only beer that set him on his can.
A good old-fashioned beer with lots of foam;
It took six men to carry daddy home.
I want a beer, just like the beer that pickled my old man.
My apologies if anyone saw this guy on saturday. Hahahah whews! What a crazy time!
The GAF society does it again! What a great time. We went for most of the evening Friday and back on Saturday for a few hours.
Weather was perfect. Glad to see it as last year the weather was not at all pleasant.
Good food, good beer, good music. What more can you ask for?
Already looking forward to next year.
It was wonderful. I am not sure, but I think it is one of the best in the country. In any event, I am glad this is in NWO.
