Do you see that several of the Toledo Libraries are doing open mic nights for poets?
A couple of months ago, the Toledo Museum of Art Reference Library had a poetry reading by two local poets (I believe one of which was interviewed by lfcipriano?). Some snacks and beverages were provided. It was a nice event and that particular library works pretty well for that type of event, in my opinion.
I believe the museum and head librarian would be interested in doing more of them in the future.
Ground Level @ Central and Douglas has some great local reading a couple of times a week.
By the way, a quick plug for a friend of mine who is a working poet. Adam Tavel is currently based in Maryland, but he earned his MA at UT, so there is at least a tangential connection to the Glass City in this plug.
