Doctor Doctor?

Got a new coworker who needs a Doc in toledo. anybody know if any good G.P's or D.o's that are taking new patients?

They're looking for one they can hang with and get to know and have the Doc get to know them, and not one of the "Instant Oil Change of medicine" variety...

Sylvania/West Toledo would be a preference because of where they live, but a good doc with a location across town isnt necessarily a deal breaker...

I like Dr. Louis Reiner at Woodley Park Internal Medicine(3909 Woodley Road, Suite 300). I am not sure if they are taking new patients, but he Dr. Reiner is a smart guy who listens to his patients and who is willing to work with the patients on trying different approaches.

David Weldy at UTMC Ruppert Center, the best. He zeroed right in on my brother's skin problem after BayPark ER misdiagnosed him and made the problem worse. 2 days after Weldy got him the right meds, he's undone what Baypark did to him and is about 50% better overall. tres awsum.

Robert Wenzke, Internist and GP at Alexis Rd Medical Center. A rarity in that he comes in, shakes your hand, asks how you are, and then - get this - he sits down and listens until you've had ample time to relay any concerns or problems. He then examines and explains what he thinks might be going on and what he proposes to do about it. Appointments are generally on time and never rushed.

Kristen Bodine at Port Sylvania. Apologies profusely if you have to wait more than 5 minutes and spends as much time as it takes. And she doesn't just answer questions about your medical condition, she'll ask you about sleeping habits, stress, etc. and make really good suggestions about a healthy lifestyle. She is awesome.

I am quite happy with my GP's. Sylvania Family Physicians, off Holland-Sylvania by Sylvania. Two women GP's and a nurse practitioner. Small practice.

Debbie Guntsch, at Toledo Family Practice on Sylvania Avenue just east of Franklin Park Mall (actually, the whole group there is good) is highly recommendable. Also, Mounir Elkhatib, a general practitioner who just recently left his own practice and joined Toledo Clinic, is also excellent. Both of these docs are MDs (not osteopaths), take a lot of time with patients, are happy to answer questions, and are compassionate and thorough practitioners of medicine. You cannot go wrong with either.

West Toledo Internal Medicine. My doctor is Axonovich but I believe they're all excellent.

Their office is in Syl. Twp., on Syl. Ave. west of McCord.

419-517-4000. Don't know if they're taking new patients.

Dr Catherine Carrigan is wonderful - she was at Timberstone Family Physicians on Holland-Sylvania, but left to start Mercy Family Practice in Perrysburg. Both my husband & I saw her and liked her.

There's a new family practice opening at Sylvania & King Rds. I'm debating about switching there, because the office is right around the corner from us. Perrysburg isn't that far from Sylvania, but I'm not sure I'd like to make the drive if I was feeling ill enough to go to the doctor. Lol

I think the doctor's name at the new practice is Schwartz? Will let you know once I find out more about him - since its a new location for him, I'm sure he's accepting new patients there.

(And I'm sure Dr Carrigan is as well, since she's building a new practice too.)

P.S. I liked the other doctors at Timberstone too (saw a couple on sick visits, when I couldn't get in with Dr Carrigan while she was still at that office). However, I'm not sure if any of them are accepting new patients.

Second the recommend on Dr. Guntsch, but I don't know if she's seeing newbies.

Westgate Medical Group, is ironically, not in Westgate, but on Woodley Road near Sylvania Ave. I've had a particularly good experience with Dr. Nancy Stadler, and well as Dr. North and Dr. Morse. Friendly office staff, and they can always get you in.

Anniecski, I second the kudos for the doctors at Westgate Medical Group. I am a new patient of Dr. Stephen Przynosch and so far, the experience has been great. Since I am fairly new for him, I would imagine they are taking new patients.

thanks for all the input - they went with a doc in the group that AceFace recommended. Port Something. Dunno if it's the same doc or not. I know it was a female
