let me begin by saying this year i followed the contest because in conversation one day with someone at work, they stated why do they even bother, another blond, blue eyed girl will be picked to be the next face of fox toledo. I asked why do u say that? they responded look at the past winners, all girls, all white. That statement incited interest, so I watched, the list became smaller, even checked out the website. Hey the winner was announced today, and out of a man, and three other women, which were not caucasian, guess who won? A caucasian woman. surprise! Wow, it has really given me plenty to think about, things i guess i take for granted. Face of Fox is supposed to be a representative of Toledo, this woman is from Milan? I always considered Toledo to be a diverse community one of the many reasons I love Toledo. Seems to me that maybe the Face of Fox contest was a joke, too bad for all the contestants that put forth an honest effort for this contest. If you watch this woman, i really dont know how she won, or maybe I do.

Seems to me like the other canidates were very attractive as well and had a media background as well. Yes she probably had more experience because she is older. But it is what it is. Just made me personally aware, I would have never noticed, have i just been conditioned?

I noticed too. Its suppose to be based on votes of the public. I hope its public choice and not editors choice under the pretense of public choice.
As I understand it, 49% of their score was from the public vote.
Heather was a leader among the viewer vote throughout the entire competition.
She is also a Cherokee Indian and a member of the Cherokee tribal roll.

Yeah, I know what you are saying. Those damn Cherokees get all the good jobs around here. I swear if it weren't for all those Cherokees taking all our jobs it would be a much better place to live. Seriously though, it is simply a popularity contest...don't over think it.

Those crappin indians again? First we take every single piece of land from them, murder them by the thousands, and then shove them onto little reservations. Now, they are taking our "Fox Face of Toledo". Boy, do they have nerve.
So Toledo are you saying that all causasians should have been eliminated, because they won too often. Isn't it possible that she won because she was the most deserving, same with the past. Should the face of Fox Toledo been given to someone just based on the fact that they were not causasian.
She certainly isn't blonde or blue-eyed.

Throwing the race card has become so common place these days that it's usually the first thing that comes out of everyone's mouth.
I wouldn't take it so seriously. It's a popularity contest.
