Ohio K, I've made this stuff for Halloween that totally freaks out the kids but tastes delish.
Here's the recipe (and yes, I realize it's full of sugar. Don't judge.)
Dead fingers
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup corn syrup
2/3 cup confectioners' sugar
About 1 cup nonfat dry milk
sliced almonds
In a medium bowl, combine peanut butter and corn syrup. Gradually add confectioners' sugar and stir with a wooden spoon until smooth. Add dry milk a little at a time and stir until mixture is stiff enough to work with your hands. Roll into a long rope 1/2-inch thick. Cut with scissors or a knife into 1 1/2-inch pieces.
Take each piece and roll it in your hand until it becomes about as big as your finger. Gently squeeze it until it looks slighly bent and gnarly, like a finger with knuckles. Press an almond slice into one end to be the fingernail. Arrange on a plate, all pointing outward.
Very spooky!
