Judge of Court of Appeals - Full Term for 6 years

Steve A Yarbrough of Sylvania
Keila Cosme of Toledo, OH

Most people aren't aware of the candidates or this particular election, Judge for the Court of Appeals. Here's a quote from a highly respected attorney in Toledo:

Steve is a Republican who has many years of judicial experience and has also been on City Council and in the Ohio Senate. Keila Cosme is one of the least qualified people ever to be appointed to a judgeship, and most lawyers were appalled when the Governor selected her. The poll of bar association members strongly found Yarbrough “highly recommended” and Cosme “not recommended”.

I'm voting for Yarbrough, and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

If you want someone who steals from taxpayers, gets overturned by courts of appeals across Ohio for mistakes simple and egregious (like denying people their due process rights) and making false or contradictory statements under oath then I can see how you would support him. Some people would vote for Charles Manson if they had a certain letter after their name. Learn about the fact before you vote at www.judgegonebad.com

Cosme all the way. No MATTER the party. This time it's about the person.

I fear this will only ignite the flamer in you, but what else do you know about Steve Yarbrough besides what you heard in that quote? Or Keila Cosme for that matter? I ask because, although Yarbrough does have experience, he is always a candidate for something. I am not endorsing Cosme, but this is a choice between two terrible candidates.

On the same note, what are your thoughts on the race for Lucas County Common Pleas judge in the race between Mandross and Davis? One candidate is highly recommended and the other is highly regarded as unsuitable by the Toledo Bar. Is that the most important consideration or is it more to do with party affiliation?

Bar polls tend to be political in nature and when you have attorneys involved in the process that have baggage themselves it's hard to take it seriously. Some races could be viewed that way: lesser of two evils kind of thing. You might want to skip that race or vote for Cosme who hasn't run afoul of the law; such as being a reckless driver or an bad judicial temperament.

I have always said positons such as these should not be endorsed by parties. Makes it wrong on a whole other level.

That said, for an example; I am not going to vote for an enviromentalist who has been caught throwing out cardboard. Capishe?

I have heard from attorneys that both are worthless and the court of appeals loses no matter who wins.

Nothing, except that he won.

Well, congratulations for that then. Not sure how you can be so proud of stumping and voting for a judge you know absolutely nothing about, but that is your right. As I said above, neither candidate was a good choice, so nobody comes out the winner here except for the guy collecting the check for 6 years.
