I currently have been getting 1/2-1 inch,5ft tall pvc pipes from Lowes. But are there other local stores (besides the usual Lowes, Home Depot) that sell them? I'm mainly looking for a lower price than what I've been paying for them.

Try Menards believe they are local. At least I never heard of them till moving here.

I've been there before, and the 1 inch types ahve a legit price. However, they didn't offer a military discount ;^)
The last time I compared prices, it was much cheaper to buy the entire 10' length than to buy the cut down ones. Home Depot offers them, but once again, they are more expensive to buy them cut.

There's a store in Holland, and in Northwood. Depends on how you define "local." When I shop at Andersons, and they have signs in the produce section that state "locally grown," it means not only in Toledo, but Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan. I asked once, and they said the produce I had asked about was grown in Kentucky, even though it stated it was "locally grown."
Menards isn't even close to being local. Check the andersons
