Buckeye Scare

I heard from a very good source that there was a bomb threat called in to Buckeye Cable on Wednesday night (night before Thanksgiving). There were two call support persons working and they were scared and left the building. Only to be reprimanded for leaving their phones. The police were able to catch the person, who didn't even use their service.

I just can't believe that the supervisors were upset with the support techs for leaving their phones in this situation. I would have left too. Next, I have not seen anything in the paper (well duh on my part) nor on any of the news stations.

Just thought I'd share the info.

I don't know why anyone would make a bomb threat against cable. It might be a customer pissed off with the rising cable bill or bad service.

ToledoLatina, I would also be out the door if my workplace got a bomb threat. I think the police clears a building that gets a bomb threat anyway. I also wonder why the media didn't report on this.

Just wanted to share the information? What information? That there was a fake bomb scare? Or that buckeye got upset that their employees bailed without knowing anything about what type of bomb scare it was?
First, without knowing what was exactly called in, and what exactly Buckeye supervisors were mad at, how can you really make any judgement? Maybe the workers didn't call any supervisor? Who knows?
Second, if the news reported every stupid scare like this one, it would give more idiots the idea and motivation to do it somewhere else.
When was the person caught? Same day?
More details are definately needed before opinions are made.

Well maybe I didn't elaborate more on this to your liking. I just felt that it was a news worthy story and that the police did catch the person. I believe it was because of caller ID but that you can't quote me on.

And with all the crazies around there could have been a bomb. I wouldn't have risked my life for my job until there was an all clear from the police.

Yeah, there's bombs going off every where since 9/11. Maybe we should all quit and stay at home.

My point is that before everyone jumps on the "mean buckeye supervisor" bandwagon, maybe the threat was so pathetic that there was no reason to leave their jobs.
