The No Label party? Is this a joke from Saturday Night Live or The Onion?
The term "No Label" is a label.
Czarty will help fight extremist beliefs? That's funny. Twelve years as Toledo mayor and I suppose none of Czarty's actions or ideas were ever extreme.

If that's the No Label label plan, then it's unintelligible, but that could be because Czarty's explanation is incoherent. It makes sense that Czarty is involved because that's some of the dumbest political bilge going. The Blade writer and editor had to laugh their asses off at this story.
The plan is to support centrist Democrats and centrist Republicans who reach across the aisle to support centrist Democrats and centrist Republicans.
What the hell is a "centrist?" Someone with no spine? Political loser? Waffler? Capitulator?

And I don't know what that worn out cliche means, "reach across the aisle." I think it's political speak for pretending to do something while doing nothing.

In 1983, Mr. Finkbeiner led a new third party, Citizens Organized and United for a New Toledo (COUNT), winning election to council under that banner and becoming the first elected independent on council since 1959.
In 1985, Mr. Finkbeiner sought, but did not get, the Democratic endorsement for City Council, winning the election anyway. Czarty became unhinged when Federal Express moved from Toledo to Perrysburg Township where it could expand. Czarty accused Wood County of "poaching" jobs from Toledo. This is just one example of Czarty being extreme and unreasonable.
Thomas F. Pounds, President and Publisher of the Toledo Free Press, wrote about Czarty:
Czarty had no interest in the region. He was not interested in cooperating with or compromising with other communities.
Maybe "centrist" means sacrificing principles to remain in office. Campaign one way but vote a different way on the issues.
Strong viewpoints can win elections. Maybe the No Label group believes these viewpoints are unsustainable, which means the politicians can't remain in office for a long time. Good. I have no problem with frequent political turnover.
In the last 10 years, we've seen two political grassroots movements disrupt its own political establishments.
Early last decade, the liberal grassroots movement nicknamed the Netroots rose to put more liberals into office at all levels of government. Even Democrats who were not liberal enough were targeted for removal. This liberal grassroots movement butted heads with established, beltway Democrats. The movement succeeded with wins not only at the federal level but at the state level too.
The Netroots movement began after the 2000 election, but it gained momentum in 2003 when it took a liking to a wacky ex-governor named Howard Dean as he campaigned for president. Dean became chairman of the Democrat party in 2005. In my opinion, the Democrat successes in the November 2006 election were partly due to the Republicans' arrogance and failures but mostly due to Dean and the Netroots movement. The Netroots supporters are proud to be liberals.
About two years ago, a conservative grassroots movement began, which is named the Tea Party. One of its big supporters is another wacky ex-governor, Sarah Palin. This conservative grassroots movement has butted heads with established, beltway Republicans. The Tea Party has tried to remove Republicans from office who are not conservative enough. In November 2010, this grassroots movement helped Republicans win at all levels of government. The Tea Party supporters are proud to be conservatives.
And finally, Carty Finkbeiner rumored to run for Toledo City Council in 2011. Will Czarty compete under the No Label label for the District 2 council seat, currently held by Czarty's good "friend" Michael Collins?
