Nana Wins the Fruitcake

Nana, sorry to start a new thread, but the Fruitcake thread is a slow load on my laptop and I can't post a reply at the end. In the hopes that you will see this comment here: you've won yourself a free fruitcake! I can drop it off for you anywhere around town -- are you friends with any store owners? Do you want to meet at a coffee shop? No hurry -- as you know, they last forever!

I don't think I've ever had one. Any place local that sells them? Would be interested to try just to see what the hype is about. :)

Coffee, I baked three cakes a few weeks ago that are ripening in a boozy stupor right now. I would be happy to give you one of mine (but Nana's prize is actually a store-bought).

Viola, cut into it today, couldn't wait for Saturday but there's plenty to share left, lol.

yum yum, nice light cake and just enough to hold the fruit together. Lots of nuts, too. it could use a little boozing for a little stronger flavor, so thinking of just drizzling it with rum, do ya think that would work?

Yes, toledolen knows best. Drizzle yourself with rum, then throw a little onto the fruitcake. I'm glad you're enjoying it. Merry Christmas!

well, we didn't drizzle, lol, but we liked it, fo shizzle. my grandkids had never had any. the 14 yr old was amazed at all the flavors mixed together, he had seconds. the oldest was all 'meh' but he's 16, everything's 'meh' except lacrosse. lol.
