I came across the story about a 68 year old Toledo man who kept a robber at bay with his gun until police arrived. I think this is well worth advertising. I know guns are not for everyone and I respect that. However, knowing that there are armed citizens protecting their homes sure would make "me" think twice before breaking and entering.

Glad to see a dirtbag off the street. Although, if the family would have had a dog or even turned on a porch light at first knock, this loser would have moved on to another house.

All local stations should bump this to the top story for a day. It might save a few Christmases.
Interesting point about the realtor's lock box on the door, makes sense though. Time to move them to the back door if you are selling a house.
The article doesn't say how long he waited for the cops to pick this guy up. I'm guessing at least 20 minutes.

Brainswell, if the word "gun" is used in the 911 call, the police show up pretty fast.
In a town made famous for not sending police when a kidnapped girl was known to be IN A HOUSE WITH THE KIDNAPPER while her father waited outside for police to come help him--finally arriving an hour later--, more people are just going to have to protect themselves.
But, the first citizen to blow away a dirtbag will have to face the cry of "He was a good boy" (no matter how old the perp is), "He was just a young person who made a mistake", "It was a racially motivated shooting" (if the perp is anything but Caucasian), etc.
These break-ins are only going to continue until the lowlifes feel unsafe breaking into a home. Anyone see the story on 13 about the young woman (23 years old) having her first baby at Mercy Hospital, but her house was robbed at the same time she was giving birth? Probably a dirtbag just like this guy who got caught.
