Any recommendations? Our 10-year-old stereo is still doing well, but I must have blown a speaker rockin' out to my tunes. This is a retail area that is heavily advertised ... if anyone has had a good experience somewhere, I'd like to go there first. Thanks

I've had good luck with Parts Express online.

Jamisons on monroe east of whiteford, pricy but top notch quality
If you prefer ordering online, I've had good luck with crutchfield.com. Great selection, plus you might save a few bucks.

I'll give a third vote for Jamiesons. It has been a while since I have been there, but the staff was incredibly helpful. I have purchased several items from them, and they have always worked within the budget I gave them. The television and receiver I bought from them were comparably priced to the big chain stores in town.
I recommend that you take along your own cd(s), something you like, and listen to many different speakers. Take your time. Go to as many different locations as necessary. You can't hear speakers before you buy on the internet. Check out the place on Upton across from DeVilbiss H.S., I can't recall the name of it.
Thanks- I will check out Jamisons. And good reminder about taking my own CD. I would have forgotten that important detail!
