BOMBSHELL: John Boehner Fingered in Sex Scandal

Thursday, February 3, 2011
BOMBSHELL! Speaker of the House Republican John Boehner is at the center of a sex scandal involving at least two different women.

The National Enquirer reports:

Capitol Hill insiders and political bloggers have been buzzing about an upcoming New York Times probe – detailing an alleged affair that the 61-year-old married pappy of two, had with pretty Washington lobbyist named Lisbeth Lyons.

An Enquirer investigation has uncovered the bedroom encounter that Boehner, who is second in line of succession to the Presidency, allegedly had with Leigh LaMora, a 46-year-old former press secretary to ex-Colorado Congressman Joel Hefley.

The cigarette smoking Ohio native, a member of the U.S. Congress for 20 years, and his wife Deborah, 62, have been married for 37 years.

This is a developing story. http://fromtheleft.wordpress.com/2011/02/03/bombshell-john-boehner-fingered-in-sex-scandal/

I hope he receives the same punishment that JFK, Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Newt Gingrich, Al Gore, and John Edwards got.

I wonder, can someone who is orange faced turn red faced? Should this be true, I can just imagine how he'll stand in front of a microphone and let the tears roll about how sorry he is. Get out the mops and buckets.

What kills me is the piece that 60 minutes did on Boner. After the 20 minute segment you would have though he was a saint. I lost a lot of respect for 60 minutes after that.

Perhaps the best title for a thread I've seen on toledotalk in a long time.

The wording from the Feb 3, 2011 article that started this thread:

"Capitol Hill insiders and political bloggers have been buzzing about an upcoming New York Times probe ..."

Here's the wording from a Sep 24, 2010 NY Post article on this same issue:

"Insiders on Capitol Hill are buzzing about an upcoming New York Times exposé that will detail an alleged Boehner affair."

Yes, when discussing a sex scandal, the word "probe" is better than exposé.

It seems Capitol Hill insiders do a lot of buzzing.

All he has to do is shake his finger at the media and say,I didn't have sex with that women! It worked with Bill Clinton so why not him?Besides, slick willy had many more than two women make that claim.I hope he was smart enough to get rid of the dresses.

From Firedoglake:

Lisbeth Lyons
John Boehner’s speakership in the U.S. House of Representatives might be short lived.

Boehner has been involved in extramarital affairs with at least two women, according to a new report in the National Enquirer. We don’t normally cite supermarket tabloids as primary source material. But the Enquirer was first to write about the John Edwards’ infidelity, and the newspaper proved to be right on target. And back in the early ’90s, the mainstream press picked up on the Bill Clinton/Gennifer Flowers story after it broke in a tabloid.

In Boehner’s case, the Enquirer gets into specifics–and that gives the story a ring of truth:

Capitol Hill insiders and political bloggers have been buzzing about an upcoming New York Times probe–detailing an alleged affair that the 61-year-old married father of two had with pretty Washington lobbyist LISBETH LYONS.

Whats the big deal, Barney Frank can admit to paying for sex while his boyfriend can run a brothel in his basement http://mediamatters.org/research/200708300008

Um, Did you read the article you posted dbw8906? - Frank did admit to paying for sex, however he denied the brothel allegation and it was disproven by third party testimony in an investigation requested by Frank himself.

As to the big deal - there is the never ending hypocrisy of the right wing, family values, Republican party. I'll take a gay man who owns up to his sexual pecadilloes any day over a married, family values guy who is trolling the net with a false identity looking for a hook up. Tons of good character there.

What's with this odd recent trend of Republicans having affairs with women?

Secretly, the Pubs don't really care, unless it involves a democrat or is homosexual in nature. THEN, they get their shorts in a knot.

Soon the New York Times will have their investigative piece on Boner's tryst. Then the stations like CBS 60 minutes will have egg on their face for promoting this guy like some saint. If they did their homework they could have found a lot of dirt that anyone with a computer could find here in two minutes of searching.

"Soon the New York Times will have their investigative piece on Boner's tryst."

Soon? The upcoming story was mentioned last September.

Insiders on Capitol Hill are buzzing about an upcoming New York Times exposé that will detail an alleged Boehner affair. Sources say the Times is looking for the right time to drop the story in October [2010].

What's taking so long? No news agency today takes that much time to check its facts.

JOHN BOEHNER SEX PROBE

I was reading on HuffPo the lengths that the Enquirer went to to get the John Edwards story, to the point of having a psychological profile created so they would know what his next move would be. I wouldn't doubt they are putting the same effort into busting Boehner. Just imagine how much good they could do if they investigated something that really mattered!

All these current "news" stories seem to include a phrase like the one below, which was also stated last September:

"... an upcoming New York Times probe."

But a National Enquirer link was posted above. Are the New York Times and the National Enquirer the same thing?

Looks like the Prez is enjoying his new health care plan, according to this week's Globe Magazine.

Should we really be trusting the National Enquirer for our news?

Rebublishits and Demofucks aside, I don't want my news coming from the National Enquirer. (That was some creative swearing)
