So now we the taxpayer's are paying for the "Mayor's" flight to India to address a graduating class that is supported by the University of Toledo. Does't the state give the University taxpayer's money and are we now supporting a school in India?

I hope he brings back some investors for the Southwyck property!

meow2: no state money is going to India. This is an agreement between UT and an Indian university, and it is a money-generator for UT, which is lending its name to a business program at the PSG Institute of Management.
As for travel expenses: since the University has a financial interest in such collaborative efforts, I think it is prudent to send people over occasionally to keep tabs on the program. Does Mike Bell need to be on that trip? Probably not, but if he can woo some investment on the trip, his $6,890.20 air fare will seem like chump change.

Mayor was out having a good time last night at and around the ballpark. A true man of the people, keep it going Mike !

If I remember correctly jeans and a white baseball cap worn backwards.
That is correct Hoops. Might add a worn baseball cap, and some mighty ugly cowboy boots. He was in my suite for a while yucking it up. Very down-to-earth and approachable.
"but if he can woo some investment on the trip"
The only thing mike bell is going to bring back from India is a bad case of diarrhea.
Yeah, it's ridiculous that our politicians conspire to outsource EVERYTHING. We produce plenty of that substance right here in NW Ohio! ;-)
My in-laws went to India a couple years ago. Hope the mayor has nose plugs--the sanitary conditions aren't exactly Western world standard in many parts of India. Beautiful in parts of the country, yes. But crowded, hot, and stinky according to family members who have made the trip.
I think I'll stick to our local eateries and enjoy my tandoori chicken in good health...

He could hand deliver investors to city council's door and it apparently won't matter.
