City taxpayers to foot the bill

Looks like the city's back to mishandling our money.

http://www.toledoblade.com/Police-Fire/2011/05/19/Mayor-ends-forced-police-concessions.html

"The city's revenues have recovered enough to end the emergency situation."

"The move would restore the contract of the Toledo Police Command Officers Association, including having city taxpayers pay the full 10 percent employee share of the pension contribution."

It would be nice if Bell dialed back some of the increased fees and taxes he slapped on residents to try and balance the budget. But no, he wants to use the little increase in revenue to end concessions with the police department. I see another budget hole soon, and another round of tax increases.

Bell is starting the re-election campaign.

Nothing to see here move along.

Kill that temporary (permanent) .75% tax, then see if they want to continue paying the city employees share of their pension.

LC, that's an excellent idea. Hopefully, next year enough people ignore the scare tactics and end that annual theft.

TPCOA is management level. Hardly a surprise.
