LLoyd Jcobs and signing bonus

Is he complaining about not getting a raise? I havent been following.

He is not complaining about the lack of a raise. He said that he would not accept one if the BOT offered. But the longevity bonus is still a slap in the face to the employees that have lost their jobs, the same employees who have frequently heard Jacobs talk about how everyone has to sacrifice in these difficult times.

RockChick, I've also heard that the university is actually maintaining three properties for the president and that relatives of his are currently occupying the Ottawa Hills house.

There used to be a time where he could be questioned publicly via the Town Hall meetings. However that has ended too: the IT employee who ran them was laid off (his job was eliminated).

$150,000 longevity bonus? I gotta remember that for my next "negotiations".

It's good to be king. Eeesh...

If he was actively growing the business development of the university, and they were profitable, then the bonuses are justifiable. But with the labor disputes and the university losing money, this just solidifies the discontent that Lloyd Jacobs gets from just about everyone.

At Valbe....The following story was told to me by a UT cop. Jake was was going to recieve a visit from an irate person who was very upset over recent treatment of a family member at the MUO Hospital. Just before this person arrived, Jake made his way to a "safe house" across the street in Old Orchard. He may or may not been accompanied by a UT Officer. Jake and his staff are now equiped with "panic buttons" or "man down buttons". I would not at all be suprised if he has family members living in those homes. I believe with the recent hire of Dan Johnson, one of his perks is that his GRANDCHILDREN may go to school at UT for free. It is alleged, that many building and outside business contracts are being carefully reviewed as they can be traced back to some of Jake's family members. It is also alleged that local law enforcement is not happy with him. At the time of the March rally, Jake advised the LCS Dept. and OSP that he expected "an all out riot" because mass layoffs were going to occur that day. Neither happened that day and after LCSD and OSP showed up with the SWAT WAGON and full riot gear. They are thinking about sending the Old Jaker a bill for their time and trouble. Tax payers.,UT students and anybody that gives a damn about this Univerisity please demand a financial acounting and please make him answer for his behavior. While your at it, ask for an explanation of his boondoggle 41mill solar project. If you contact the AAUP office they will send you a link with all of the details. Phone # 419 530 7270. I wonder if there is any proof to the stories above... seems like a rumor going around and around...I heard from someone who heard from someone...

These are NOT rumors! The story about the safe house was reported to me by a UT cop. The information on the panic buttons is common knowledge but was told to me first hand by Jakes secretary AND the UT cops. And excuse me all to hell.....UTMC and not MUO. These are not rumors but common knowledge to those working on campus. Telling the Blade anything about UT is useless as Jake has them in his back pocket. Look who is on the BOT!!
