I'm sure this topic is redundant but I cannot find prior posts about trustworthy people who will replace my roof in a responsible manner for a fair price. Please show me the way, and if this topic truly does not exist, please provide recommendations. Thank you in advance for your rapid response: nasty leaks clearly imminent.

Integrity Roofing worked great for me. (419) 466-3259
Wasnt the lowest quote I received (by just a few hundred), but went above and beyond with any issues or concerns I had. Would use again for sure.
Do not use Integrity Roofing. Their original time line of a full crew working from 8am til dark, quickly turned into 2 guys showing up at 10 am, then lunch by noon and never to return for the day. After a week and a phone call, they got the roof finished, but the work, the cleanup and the entire experience was less than acceptable.
I wouldn't recommend them.
I've heard good things about Ohio Roofing, but they are more costly.

There you go. I was typing my post when I guess the other one got posted first.
To each their own I guess. My experience wasn't good.
I unconditionally give my highest recommendations to TFL Roofing, which installed a high-quality roof on my house. Some low-budget firms may beat them by a few of dollars on price, but no one can outdo his company in quality. He also came out and fixed a minor problem a month after the installation at no cost, personally climbing up to check his work (it turns out the skylight, not the roof, had a defect causing a leak on rain from the south, but he fixed the problem by removing and reinstalling the glass). The guys he employs are very neat, respectful, and they busted their arses to get the two jobs done in two days (house and garage). You can reach Tom Lorkowski (the owner) at 419-536-2310 for a free estimate.

LetitBe, Hockeyfan would say the sky was green if I said it was blue. Just saying.

I had a really good experience with Jia-Moore construction and would recommend them. They were timely and professional when I dealt with them. ToledoRemodelingPros.com
Thanks for this thread as I have to do my roof as well but I do have one question, I have no idea what to budget... I have an average size house, two story, not too big of a roof area... what would be the norm??? thanks
We have had good experiences with both Holt Roofing and Enterprise Roofing. Neither is cheap, but you do get what you pay for; we once made the huge mistake of hiring SeaGate Roofing, because their bid was so much lower than anyone else. Big mistake. I would not hire them again ever.
makinTV, my quotes went from 4500 to 12000. literally. i wont say who, but the one company stated 12k and by the time they were leaving it was down to 8k. i knew then there was no way i was using them. i think i paid about 4750 for a complete tear off of house and garage.
i used integrity roofing a few years back for a new roof and would not use them again. there were a few issues. i caught them using the old rusty flashing in a number of spots. also, as they nailed in the new osb board close to the edges/ overhangs, they actually sent nails through trim work on the sides of the house. they ruined some original crown molding on our old home. i even found exposed nail heads on the new roof, caused by a happy trigger finger on the nail gun. i regret using them.
letitbe, i forgot to add........quite a few of our neighbors use and love salgua roofing. it came to me because of a conversation i just had with one of those neighbors.
I don't know Ryan personally, but if he says he had a good experience with Integrity Roofing then it's likely he did. The caveat is that your own mileage may vary.
HockeyFan contradicts Ryan's stellar review, and that's enough to make me stay away from Integrity Roofing.
HistoryMike is a reliable source, is a home owner and unlike Ryan is not a completely anonymous contributor. I'd look at HistoryMike's recommendation first.
Salgau Roofing does a great job, and has special knowledge and skills related to historic structures. And believe it or not, Hansons did a very good job and have stood behind their work 100% in the year since we've had it done.
I just want to say that no matter what the job is that you're hiring out, you have to be watchful and vigilant. Know what it is that you're paying for, and see to it that that is what you get. Whether it's a company trying to screw you or simply an honest error, don't be afraid to ask questions or call them on something that doesn't make sense or seem right to you.
READ and UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING before you sign.
I was wondering if anyone had any other good reliable contractors to add to this list....especially ones that do insurance work. I had a branch cause some damage on my roof and I'd like to find a reputable company to use. Any good or bad stories are welcome. Thanks!

Tell Beth Holt at Holt Roofing that Molsonator sent you. She will say "Who" but you will still get quality work. Ha!

I second the DO NOT USE recommendation for SeaGate Roofing. Wow. BIG mistake. Never again. Never ever. As in, no way, nuh uh, n-e-v-u-h. Since then, have used both Holt and Enterprise and been satisfied. I'd recommend at least getting bids from them.
Seagate is terrible. They might be the cheapest but they are the shoddiest. Made the mistake of using them, regretted it 2 years later and had All-Nu do it over.
Went with Holt. Superb workmanship, excellent service, great product selection, and exceptional warranty. Tiny bit higher in price, but my home is a major investment and well worth a few more bucks. Some other options were not acceptable: stay away... far, far away, from Seagate.... many bad reports from friends and family. Thank you, TT folks, for your input and support!
Oh look an old thread.
Integrity: used them 5 years ago for a total re-roof. Tear off, new sheathing, new shingles. Was not the cheapest. I had several concerns about overall quality of work. For example, they damaged my newish gutters by crushing them in several places. They attached tarps to my house by nailing the tarps directly to the side of my house. Yeah, you read that right. Multiple nail holes in my siding. Um, hello...
In the end, the owner agreed to have a crew come back and touch up some of the damage to the house and the gutters. They also took a hundred bucks off of a $7,500 bill.
They have never returned to repair the damage caused by their carelessness.
The roof that they installed is ok. But I wouldn't call them back.
I wouldn't of paid them till they fixed their stupidity.

I sometimes give somebody one chance to be honest. Just not two chances.
Yep yep your money is in an escrow account when you fix what you broke you can have it.

I totally see your point, and have used that tactic. In this case, since the actual roof was ok, and we were talking about a couple of hundred dollars in gutter and siding damage, maximum, I felt that it was not appropriate to withhold $7,500 over $200. If it was a couple thousand... that would have been different.
So, I acted in good faith and he did not. I have no regrets. However, I wouldn't hire him again, and countless people have decided not to either, based on my account. In the end, I got my pound of flesh, and he got passed over on a lot of roofing jobs... Heck, even the people who referred him to ME tell the story about how he never came back. And they no longer refer him.
Then keep 200-500 dollars back from the amount until your satisfied with their work.

I kept a hundie. I'm fine. I ate the other hundie.
Just can't give them a good report.
Well bad reviews like that on local websites have to work against him as well. I would have turned him into the BB as well. There are too many folks doing the same work to get any kind of a bad report or review on and keep getting a lot of work.
