Palace at Auburn HIlls

I am going to see Josh Groban next month and was wondering whether anyone had suggestions as to where to eat before the concert. I haven't done any online research on this yet but thought I'd throw the question out there to see if anyone had suggestions.

I'd suggest Mexican food. Yummy.

Stay away from any place within 6-8 miles of the Palace, as 20,000 other people will have the same idea. Since you are coming from Toledo, consider downtown Detroit. The Caucus Club is a bit pricey, but has great food and service. Xochimilco and El Zocalo are two of the better Mexican restaurants right off I-75 just before downtown (get off at one of the Ambassador Bridge exits). There are tons of great restaurants in Detroit's Greektown - my low-priced favorite is the Golden Fleece. You can be out to the Palace from Downtown Detroit in 30-40 minutes if you are driving in rush hour, and a little quicker if you beat the rush hour traffic. Wait - I see the concert is on a Saturday, so you will have little in the way of traffic except at the Palace itself. Also: Go past the first two exits and get off at exit 83 from I-75 and enter the Palace from Harmon Road. Much less traffic, as 70 percent of the people use exits 79 and 81. You will drive an extra three miles but get in there 20 minutes faster.

Plenty of restaurants by the mall, about 5-7 miles away at most. Or Post or Hoops

There is a small family restuarant just North of the Palace, can't recall the name though. Get off the e way North of the Palace, eat there, then heading South you won't have to try to turn left into the parking lot

Thanks, guys. I have some suggestions to start with. I'm a little leery of driving through Detroit but maybe it's not as bad as I fear.

The Rhapsody for really good Hungarian food! It's about five to ten minutes off the Allen Road exit. LOVE that place!

If you are going north, the Allen Rd exit is closed for resurfacing. All of Allen Rd right there is jacked up.
