Rap show at the Huntington Center...

Apparently they were checking for guns, how else can you account for the low turnout?

Ticket prices. I was curious and checked a few days ago... $72 with fees for the cheapest ticket, $120 for the best seats. I'd imagine it's a younger crowd and I don't know many people that would pay that much even if they could afford it.

Kind of hard to justify that cost when you read this part of the review:

All of the acts Friday used pre-recorded tracks with beats, synthesizers, and sometimes back-up vocals while they rapped and sang over them with varying degrees of success....Listening to a pre-recorded track is not a unique experience — all you need is iTunes.

"Apparently they were checking for guns"

Apparently this happens at all concerts I attend. At the last two Nine Inch Nails concerts in Toledo, I had to go through not just pat downs but detectors. At the past 20 Clutch concerts I've attended, I get patted down. Perhaps you could just release your inner racist and say they were checking for basketballs and watermelons?

Even more enjoyable is your link to an article that states the performers were using synthesized vocals and beats. But that can't be the reason for the low turnout? No. Neither could the reason for low turnout be that the acts aren't a comprehensive group of great rap artists? No. Instead... its because of guns.
Thanks for posting an exemplary work of what is wrong with Toledo.

My 15 year old said this concert was not even talked about in his group and they seem to know a lot about current rap artists.

By the way - we got frisked at Chene Park Wednesday entering to see AWB and Brian Culbertson.
