"But what have I done to anybody? It was something that happened, and it was people trying to make some money."
I could have guessed this moron never felt remorse for what he did to those poor dogs. I guess Vick is now showing his true self. I'm surprised he was able to hide it for so long. Every time I see a photo of this guy, he has a smirk on his face. Can't stand him.

Sadly, Vick and others like him are raised and taught that animals are merely for our entertainment. Their attitude is "It's just a stupid dog."
It is truly a shame, but society is so forgiving these days.

The ability for adult males to be so wrapped up in sports in this country is mind boggling! Most men these days know more about the stats of their favorite quarterback than the grades of their children, it just leaves me speechless. They will shell out 300 bucks for the Sunday ticket, 200 dollars for tickets to a game, and 50 dollars for a jersey but they have no money for their child's education or to take their family to Cedar Point. The sight of grown men drooling over the absolute stupidity that encompass fantasy football, it's like the same look you see in booby bars when men pine for some sort of glory they will never achieve, no matter how much time and money they dump into it. Ray Lewis can be part of a MURDER and then lie to the cops about it be he is still a "hero". Bread and circus will keep the sheeple occupied.
We all have Freedom to spend our money where we wish, but Sports is the new religion in this country. I really do enjoy college football on a Saturday afternoon while I'm mulling about the house, but if my family wants to go fishing or even if I want to take a nap, it's no skin off my back if I miss a game (or 6).
Nothing about the sheer half-witted extravaganza of the 24 Sportcenter culture surprises me anymore. I swear Peyton Manning could drop a deuce on most men's yards every morning and they would run out to scoop it up as "memorabilia".

No doubt that's the answer: Neuter all the males, duct tape their mouths, impound all the pick-up trucks to junk yards, outlaw regulated aggression, put Oprah on a 24hr channel, turn off every vacuum sweeper in the country and continue down the delightful, peaceful downward spiral this country has been on, which believe it or not, will have a bottom to the pit.

lol, I guess I'm a namby pamby because I don't spend hours of my life sitting on the couch juxtaposing my 4 four touchdown game at Polk High on millionaires who don't give a rat's ass about me.
I like sports, love playing them, but I couldn't tell you the batting average of any of the Tigers. Live life, don't spend yours carrying the financial jockstrap of others.

I think the Vick Dog Chew Toy is still available at http://www.vickdogchewtoy.com/ If you own a dog, this might diminish any anger you feel when you see Vick. The chew toy also comes in prison colors and with Vick's new team colors, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Detroit Lions
I'm looking forward to squandering some fine fall Sunday afternoons, watching the Detroit Lions. It "feels" like the Lions have a chance this year to have their first non-losing season since 2000, provided their delicate QB can finish a few games.
Last year, the Lions finally recovered somewhat from the long-term team decimation by Matt Millen. I think the Lions were considered the worst franchise in all of pro sports. From the mid-point of the 2007 season to the mid-point of the 2010 season, the Lions won 5 games and lost 43. The Lions finished last season winning four straight games. But so did the Browns the year before, and they floundered last year.
I predict that this fall, you see more Toledo area residents wearing Lions garb than you have seen in a very long time. I own only an old grey Lions sweatshirt. Maybe I'll add a ball cap to my collection this season.
Toledo Rockets
I'd like to check out the UT Rockets football home game on Fri, Sep 16 versus Boise State. The Broncos are pre-season ranked in the top 10. The Rockets should be better this year. Never know. It would be a major upset if the Rockets won. I don't think Boise State will blowout UT. It could be a high-scoring, entertaining contest to watch.
The Rockets will probably win the MAC West division this year and play in Detroit for the MAC title. The Tue, Nov 1 home game versus Northern Illinois and/or the Tue, Nov 8 home game versus Western Michigan may decide the division winner.
Bring on the football regular season. It's time to listen to the NFL films music CD, titled the Power and the Glory.

I cannot believe soooooo many people believed that Vic changed the way he felt about DOGS. (probably ANIMALS) How can people be so stupid as to think just because he cleaned some dog cages and donated some money for animals,& talked to kids, that he was a GOOD MAN...
NEVER.
I wish they would of taken him & his friends that KILLED all those dogs, and put them in the front line over in Afghanistan with no gun maybe a steak knife.......

Get over it people. No doubt he's an asshole, a rich and famous one at that, but move on.
If you don't like him, don't cheer for him. Just quit complaining about Vick like you know him personally or something he does somehow affects your everyday existence.

Haha. Good one, JeepMaker. Vick is an ass and always will be. You didn't think he was truly changed, did you? He has no remorse because you can't change someone who choked a dog with his own hands, and electricuted a dog, etc. He's sick and karma will come his way in due time.

Did you all know that Nike has rehired Vick? I am never going to purchase a Nike product while they are paying Vick. I also called Nike and told them my thoughts. I would suggest that all dog lovers do the same. Perhaps Vick would not be so popular with Nike if it affected their sales.

Nike thinks what happens in an athlete's personal life is separate from their professional life. Nike would probably hire a child molester if that person were a sports celebrity.

There's no 'probably' about it if the price was right.
Vick doesn't get it, but that's no surprise. If you were expecting some sort of epiphany to happen to Vick or for Vick to have a massive personality change without benefit of forty years of therapy and a crude form of neurosurgery, you are delusional. Nothing short of Divine intervention will actually reform Michael Vick from what he is now into whatever it is you'd like him to become - possibly an empathetic human being or reasonable facsimile.
I'd settle for the personality change, administered with a rusty screwdriver. I think they call it a lobotomy.

GET OVER IT???? I don't think so...It's a shame that people do get over and forget about all these abusers and except them. Maybe Vick would not be rich if people DID NOT GET OVER IT.....so this means do not buy his books,do not buy football tickets for his team, and most of all_____do not believe him. All the people that forgot what he (did) never thought of all the PAIN and SUFFERING those animals experienced.

"All the people that forgot what he (did) never thought of all the PAIN and SUFFERING those animals experienced."
All the people who forgot what he did never cared about what he did to the dogs in the first place, sadly. Football is more important to them. They don't care about abused animals. Nothing turns me off more than someone who abuses or neglects animals. I've had to drop some friendships in my life - one of whom drove out to the country to drop off a dog he and his wife no longer wanted and drove away - because of what they've done to their pets or other animals. Any football team Vick is on, I cheer for the opposition. And my family will not buy any item or service from any company that signed him up for endorsements. Nope. Never will "get over it."
