Subject: THE MOST STUPID AND INSULTING STATEMENT EVER SPOKEN BY A PRESIDENT
He doesn't seem to have much respect for the military.
Maybe in the future our leaders should be veterans.
THOUGHT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO SEE THIS!!
THE MOST STUPID STATEMENT EVER BY A PRESIDENT-Unbelievable
THIS MOST UNBELIEVABLE PRESIDENT? HERE IS HIS RESPONSE WHEN HE BACKED OFF FROM HIS DECISION TO REQUIRE THE MILITARY PAY FOR THEIR WAR INJURIES.
Bad press, including major mockery of the play by comedian Jon Stewart, led to President Obama abandoning his proposal to require veterans carry private health insurance to cover the estimated $540 billion annual cost to the federal government of treatment for injuries to military personnel received during their tours on active duty. The President admitted that he was puzzled by the magnitude of the opposition to his proposal.
"Look, it's an all volunteer force," Obama complained. "Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice? It doesn't compute.." "I thought these were people who were proud to sacrifice for their country, "Obama continued "I wasn't asking for blood, just money. With the country facing the worst financial crisis in its history, I'd have thought that the patriotic thing to do would be to try to help reduce the nation's deficit..
I guess I underestimated the selfishness
of some of my fellow Americans."
Please pass this on to every one including every vet and their families whom you know. How in the world did a person with this mindset become our leader?
REMEMBER THIS STATEMENT...."Nobody made these guys go to war. They had to have known and accepted the risks. Now they whine about bearing the costs of their choice?"
If he thinks he will ever get another vote from an Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard service member or veteran of a military service he ought to think it over.. If you or a family member is or has served their country please pass this to them.
Please pass this to everyone. I'm guessing that other than the 20-25 percent hard core liberals in the US will agree that this is just another example why
This is the worst president in American history. Remind everyone over and
Over how this man thinks, while he bows to the Saudi Arabian king...
If someone has to explain this to you, you just dont get it--
Linecrosser, really. You're reprinting this garbage?
Check this out:
President Barack Obama's 2012 budget request for Veterans Affairs was $132 billion: $62 billion in discretionary appropriations and $70 billion in mandatory financing. The new GI Bill, signed by President George W. Bush, was assigned a $70 billion-plus price tag during the first decade of implementation. And health care costs have climbed in the VA system as they have in the rest of the American health care market. Among other changes, the agency under Shinseki has expanded its offerings for post-traumatic stress disorder and for afflictions attributed to Agent Orange exposure during the Vietnam conflict.
Shinseki, BTW, is the US Veterans Affairs Secretary.
Snopes.com is really a great site to check out emails like this one. I routinely will 'reply all' when someone sends me one of these and email back the snopes link. You'd be surprised how many people will start checking out snopes BEFORE forwarding things as a result. LOL
Thanks Maggie, Annie, calm down.
Wow Linecrosser, that took about 10 seconds to prove wrong... thanks Annie
Oh and reading snopes they actually did propose charging veterans health insurance companies the costs. So it says partially true Annie. He proposed billing their insurance companies but not forcing them to pay out of their own pocket. Still pretty bad idea.
Linecrosser, the proposal was dropped in 48 hours. That said, it's the Republicans that are pissed that veterans aren't forced to use regular insurance and existing hospitals.
The talking heads over at WSPD have gone on and on about their opposition to the new VA hospital in Toledo.
You have Rich Iott over in the Free Press bitching about the VA in general.

"Why not just send the vets to local medical facilities."
I'm sure your friends are sending all sorts of e-mails around bashing those ideas too right? Why not post some of those chain mails?
Its not that it was dropped, its that it was even proposed in the first place. Saying the N-word then retracting it 10 seconds later doesn't unsay the word either does it.
So Obama proposing something for 48 hours that only goes about 10% of that the Republicans want to do is “Still pretty bad idea”; then what do you think about the Republican’s proposed changes?
To your originally incorrect post… Obama’s proposal would NOT have, as you misreported, forced veterans to pay for their treatment of their injuries out of their own pockets of forced them to buy private insurance.
Sensor learn to read, i said it wouldn't make them pay out of their pocket, i quoted a email i got, I then read the snope page someone linked and commented on the fact he DID propose their insurance companies pay, what part of it didn't you get?
