Congratulations!

My congratulations along with a tip of the old fedora and a hoist of my afternoon bourbon glass to Stephanie M. Lorée over at Scribbler to Scribe. Stephanie is officially a published author as of today (Thursday, September 1, 2011). You can read about it at: Stephanie M. Lorée - Officially Published, my own congratulations are here: My Congratulations

Good job, Stephanie.

If she is a friend then I'm happy for you and her, but I'm a bit confused.

Her "published" story was a tweet? And the publisher is a wordpress site?

Granted a zombie robot would make a fun short story, but if this is considered being published then all of the people on TT are authors.

Heck I've had a poem printed in a magazine once but wouldn't consider myself an author.

"A SuperNerd who loves gaming, technology, good sushi, and bad kung fu flicks" :) she sounds cool though.

Well... wow. Thanks! I'm Stephanie, the author. Yes, my first published piece of fiction is a new experiment in micro-fiction called twit-fic. It was submitted to an online ezine (trapeze) and they use Wordpress like many others.

The publishing world is different than most people expect. But micro-fiction does pay and does involve rejections just the same. You have to follow submission guidelines and do all the standard stuff normally required of a short.

I greatly appreciate the congratulations and support from my fellow Toledoans. I'm just beginning on my career as an author, and it's not easy going to get your stuff out there (especially weird stuff about zombies and robots).

For those of you interested, I do have a real short story coming out next month from Open Heart Publishing. It's much bigger than 140 characters and is about a guy who can tattoo the future...

Oh, and no, I don't drink Mountain Dew. I prefer margaritas.
