Event is over.
By the way, I did not write the press release, I was just sharing it to see if people had heard about it, and a bunch of idiots decided to attack me as if I had written it.

You tools do whatever you want - the bill will be passed. You morons are the minority.

"Ten years ago, the nation recognized that firefighters, police officers and first responders were heroes. Now, in Ohio, they are under attack. It's disgusting."
There is so much wrong with this statement, I'm not even sure where to start. The insinuation that people didn't recognize firefighters, police officers and first responders as heroes until 9/11 is beyond disingenuous. And any comparison, implied or not, to that horrific event and the current legislative/political landscape is not only shameful, but patently disrespectful as well.
Wow, bringing the events of 9/11 into your cause is what's disgusting. Consider the source, I guess. Not like you union hacks are known for being fine upstanding citizens.
"we are a democracy"
Where in the hell did you learn that? We are a REPUBLIC! Damn it, look it up!
Rockchick,
Can you please tell me how the tax payer and consumer benefit from Union products and labor? Are we receiving the highest quality and value for the money we are spending? Also, could you please speak in regards to the education system and how we the tax payers and students have benefitted from Union performance.
I'm not taking a negative stand, I would just like to hear your position.

Well, most of you beat me to it. I liked RBancroft's the best, although OmarLittle gets right to the point.
HB 194 is long overdue. Ohio needed this law fifty years ago and Ohio Legislature is finally, at long last, getting around to writing it.
Thanks RockChick, I just wish I'd seen this sooner. Did many attend?
Is it just me, or should rally organizers figure that people, besides students, at 12 noon on a Monday might be...oh, I don't know...working?
This is the lead story on toledoblade.com right now: Anti-S.B. 5 and anti-H.B. 194 groups rally at UT
It doesn't deserve to be the lead story, but of course the Blade has its ax to grind. But even in the story it says the "rally" speakers had an audience of only students and university staffers during the lunch hour. Kind of preaching to the choir...certainly not going to make any new converts. All in all, a complete waste of time.

Its a no win situation, if it stays law they complain they dont make enough, if it gets removed then they will cry when they lose their jobs.
