Apartment info wanted

Requirements:

0) one or two bedroom
1) close to but not inside City of Toledo limits... I don't want to have part of my paycheck go to Czarty da Fink.
2) Max rent $550/mo.
3) Not in Buckeye Cable territory, for similar reasons to #1 above
4) Low-crime neighborhood.

Suggestions?

Will you accept "Scout" having access to your place while you are away?

AC - try Washington Township...there's a complex of townhouse-type units on Summit St., apartments on Shoreland and some on Suder at Shoreland. All next to Toledo, but not in it. I don't know about prices - and that may be Buckeye Cable territory as well... But this area has very little crime and Washington Township has their own police force...

Hey, AC. Good to hear from you. Do you mind if we inquire about your status? Obviously, we don't need to know identity-compromising details. So, did you get a job nearby?

Considering your commute options, think about the following places:

1. Oregon.
2. Perrysburg.
3. Holland.
4. Over the border (MI).
5. Swanton.

That rent value may get you a small house in the Swanton area. House prices are falling. In Toledo itself, the signs are practically screaming "RENT ME RENT ME OH GAWD PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE RENT ME". Hopefully you can leverage this sort of desperation into a sold rent value on a small place.

I don't know why you're concerned about Buckeye Cable. My ISP Toast.Net offers DSL for $18/mo. DSL is fine, right?

And finally, low crime is not much of a concern once you decide to avoid Toledo. In more of the boonies like Swanton, however, occasionally some idiot tries a home invasion, just to find out the right to keep and bear arms is yet remembered there. Har har!

Been working. Lots and lots of working. As in "at least a little overtime every week" working...

Not a fan of Buckeye given certain... tactics... allegedly used against critics of Buckeye/Block family. DSL speeds don't compare to cable, either.

I recommend Picaddily East. 2 bedroom $460 a month. It's nice has a pond, nice plot of land for kids to play, dog/cat friendly, even has a dog park of it's own :)

Also less than 10-15min to downtown depending on traffic on 280.

Forgot to mention they dont charge extra for pets, apartments seem to be well kept. Owner is really nice and lives on site as well as the maintenance guy.

My only recommendation is to not get one on the basement floor. Have heard trouble with mold and dampness.

A/C, how are you? Its been a long time! I would suggest three meadows area. Nice area, right off I75. Some places over there even have garages or carports. Every type of shopping you could ever need just down the street.

Another nice place is country acres in sylvania. Its on acres road. they are side by side units, assigned parking, 2 entrys, washer and dryer hookups, eat in kitchen. lots of closets. managed by dunbar. I beleive they run about $490.

Good luck to you!

Hey, put 'er there, GZ-Toast.Net DSL is what I use. No complaints here. They have a GREAT support system, too.

A local company NOT affiliated with the Blocks were the main criteria for selecting Toast.Net. Everything else they do that is good, is just icing on the cake for me.

Call me when Toast.net DSL has a 15MB plan that competes with Time Warner/Road Runner cable.

{nod to AC} Of course, I'm not the heavy downloader or uploader, so such things were not an issue with me.

buckeye is rediculous. I've had buckeye from place to place I've lived and the speed of internet just isn't satisfying for the price. and with that HD cable shit. We just got a 57 HD tv a few weeks ago and had to pay for a HD DVR box instea dof a standard HD box because "they are out of stock" on the regular boxes. So now I have to pay extra for a service I don't plan on using. and with the HD signal which I'm also not satified with we had the buckeye technicians come out to check it out and they told us the cable was old that was wired through the house and was causing a week signal.... so they came out on the 23rd to rewire the house...and well i'm still not satisified with my 6 channels in HD.
