Confront a bully and find a coward.
This is very sad that this young man ended his life.
I believe that bullying behavior is taught to children by the adults in their lives who learned it as children from the adults in their lives and on and on it goes - this is learned behavior - it doesn't come naturally. Bullies have low self-esteem and do what they do to feel powerful. Odds are the kids that bullied this young guy are mistreated at home by their parent(s) or older siblings.
Those of us who are older and wiser who survived bullying in school know that bullies are just sad little trolls with pathetic, powerless, go nowhere lives - if you don't feed trolls, they die.
In this case, though, this young guy evidently didn't have anyone to tell him about the trolls and sadly he died - but he didn't have to - where were the tattletale students and the teachers and all the other adults who worked at the school and saw something or overheard something and did nothing.
Speak up!
My condolences to his family and friends . . .

My children aren't school-age yet but I'm dreading it already. If my kids are bullied, I know my parental instinct is going to be to hunt down the little bastards and make their lives a living hell.
I've heard a different story from someone very close to Brandon. I have also heard this one. So who knows?
I do know he was a very nice boy. Very respectful of his elders and pleasant to talk to. And that smile!
It's all so sad.
