Have you looked at ATT U-Verse is what I think they call it.

I personally feel that Buckeye is the best option out there but can understand your frustration if you are getting outages.

UPSO,

I have AT&T High Speed internet, 3MBPS. Just over $19 per month. Can't recall any serious interuptions. I do not have it bundled. I do not have home phone service. Just internet. Very satisfied.

I had Toast for a while, no problems. It's a small local company and the owner sometimes attends local small business seminars.

We have Buckeye now, and I agree with upso, the slowdowns are getting more frequent, especially in the last week or so.

We've been happily using Toast.net since the late 1990s.

I've looked into AT&T since my cousin swears by it for both internet and cable. I already use AT&T for our home phone...but it's not available yet in the Point. Anyone know when they plan to have it out our way?

Over the years I have had Buckeye, Time Warner, and AT&T.

Time Warner was expensive and had NIGHTLY down times.
Buckeye was stable and a great service.
AT&T is stable and a great service.

Go with AT&T or Buckeye.

Since Toledo has 4G Verizon service now, one could always opt for a 4G USB modem from them for the portability factor. A friend speed tested his at 6 megs down. Not too shabby, but pricey.

ATT-UVERSE here since it was first availabe, with no outages. However, we did have to have the router replaced once. Our connenction to the tower computer didn't go down but the wireless part wouldnt connect to any wireless laptop anywhere in the house. We were never without internet access, just couldnt use the lap top in any room but the office. It was replaced promplty. The usual jbber-jab on the phone with a service rep was no fun. Try this - try that - try this again until they felt they had exhausted all avenues, including my patience, and then they sent an installer with a new router.

I've never had a problem with ATT, but they are expensive. If I didn't have little kids, I'd get rid of the home phone and just use the cell.

BEX is probably the best option. ATT DSL is slow, and when you have problems you don't have the privilege of talking to someone local. I pay for 10Mb with buckeye, and always get at least 10Mb. I've only had one outage in 3 years.

I just looked at the Toastnet page, but didn't see anything about pricing. Does anyone know what they charge?
