You Want A Tax Break But Won't Hire Our Citizens?

It isn't, but since when has that ever slowed a politician down?

This article infuriated me, but then I'm anti tax abatement for any reason, anywhere. This is off the deep end.

I agree that there should be some sort guideline for hiring people from Toledo when a company receives tax breaks.

However, I must admit that I was surprised to read that the existing rule dictates that 10% of new employees must come from the central city. I could see where some employers might have trouble fulfilling that requirement (depending on the line of work). Not to mention that as long as the employees were qualified Toledoans, why should it matter what part of the city they live in?
