Actually, they were cancelled for this weekend to the high winds...NW today at 20 and expected to be high through Sunday...that's a bit rough for taking people out to the lighthouse....

I was excited to hear this but due to $$ and all of the other events this weekend I wasn't going to make it.
For $15 you can join and be part of their preservation society. After the lighthouse festival this past summer I was hooked, and plan to become an active member in the reconstruction. In fact received my paperwork this week.
I'm curious of this tour, as I thought it wasn't dockable till next year so they must have kicked some butt this summer.

We have been the 'taxi' boat for the preservation society a couple occasions this summer. There is a dock on the north side that lowers down now. (you can see it in the upright position in the video above)
But, it still needs to be very calm to approach it and dock. All those huge boulders are intimidating as heck! And once docked - someone needs to keep and eye on the lake conditions & the boat at the dock for that matter.
All and all the Lighthouse is in great structural condition. It can be a real local treasure if the society is able to accomplish all it wants.
