I was at tonight's assembly, one of about 35 who are still comitted to the cause. There are links for pics at the end of this report.
I was only able to stay for a short time but while I was there we discussed asking for a permit from the city to pitch tents, get electricity, lights, and set up info tables.
I found it funny that someone referred to getting "free electricity". I don't know where free electricity comes from if any of you do please let me know. The crowd was not very animated, some people not even bothering to do tickle fingers when agreeing with what was said.
The guy who locked himself in his foreclosed home in Stony Ridge read the proposal that's been readied for the city. Sorry I can't remember his name.
I did get a nice tweet as I was leaving from @occupytoledo thanking me for stopping by.

I feel sorry for these homeless people. Down Monroe street is The Cherry Street Mission. They may have some cots available.

I also attended the 7:00 p.m. general assembly on Tue, Oct 11. It started about 7:05 p.m., and it ended at 8:11 p.m. I counted the group multiple times, and I tallied between 60 and 70 people at 7:19 p.m. More than 50 people were present at the start of the meeting.
I saw zero police.
It was very noisy due to construction on the parking garage near the Huntington Center. The jack-hammering and then later what sounded like a concrete saw echoed through the garage and between the buildings.
Some of the Occupy Toledo group met with Toledo City Council on Tuesday to discuss issues with Occupy Toledo occupying Levis Square at N. St. Clair and Madison. Apparently, City Council listened well, but they got a little concerned over the phrase "permanent occupation."
Based upon the discussion with City Council, Occupy Toledo created a draft proposal of their plans and requests that covered issues such as lighting, shelter, port-o-potties, parking, and ways to stay warm. The group settled on the wording that says, "no definite end-time" along with no plans for a permanent establishment.
On Tuesday evening, the group discussed and modified this proposal, which will be submitted to City Council. The proposal is now available online to read.
The loud construction noise downtown along N. St. Clair:
Does that occur every night? And Occupy Toledo has to establish a quiet time.
Damn.
Can you believe that some people have the nerve to work and make noise doing it while others are trying to get some sleep after a hard day of protesting????

Damn.
Can you believe that some people get off their asses and try to change things?
Best of luck to the Toledo protesters.

Sitting on your ass in a park twinkling your fingers while demanding accommodations from the government (as Fred referenced, "free electricity") changes nothing. It can be summed up in a (non) word: "Gimme."
You want to be in the park? Fine. You want to shit in the park? I'm fine with that too (even animals don't crap where they live--nice job humans!). But taxpayers should not have to support you with "free electricity", "free food", "free" anything. If council is going to allow an encampment, give 'em an outlet and have 'em pay the bill like anyone else. All in favor, please twinkle...
But be proud, Occupy Toledo! Your protest seems to be just about as big as the one in Washington D.C.!

Fred his name is Keith Sadler. Remember he was evicted from his Stoney Ridge home in protest while your boss Brian Wilson was calling him a deadbeat. Ironically at the same time Brian's Moss Creek home was also foreclosed. So who was the deadbeat? Will the gullible WBSPD listener believe that swamp gas was the culprit for his fleeing the area? We will never know the truth!
Here's the link to the deadbeat WBSPD radio host foreclosure

They truly sound like idiots repeating everything for a group of what 30 people? Camera didn't pan much but seems like there is a group standing all withing earshot of someone talking normally let alone shouting.
