Anyone know anything about the new big catch seafood resturant on the corner of Telegraph and Alexis?
Big Catch seafood resturant
Comments ... #
That's funny, I drove by it last night and though, "oh, there's ol' ground round ...wait, it's big catch seafood now?!"
So I know nothing of it. Other than, it's under new management.
Also, never order seafood on a Sunday. Why? Because they're last delivery was Friday, at best. Go out for seafood Wednesday or Thursday for freshest stuff.

I'm interested in a new seafood restaurant, so I'll keep my eye on this...

ground round closed a year ago then martini's opened in that location. there was a website on the banner but the wind was whipping it around and i could not read it.
We stopped at Martinis one night this summer. It looked a bit beat up. It was also really warm in there and when we were seated a fly wouldnt leave us alone, lol. We looked at each other and ran down the street to The Brownstone. I wish this new place better luck.
A co-worker and her family went there recently and said it was one of the most nightmarish restaurant experiences they ever had. Rude, lousy service and the food was even worse according to her.
I disagree.. I went there recently and had a very pleasurable experience. The lobster raviolli was amazing.. my waitress was extremely friendly, and I even got a chance to sit with the owner for a few minutes. He came out to check on my food, and asked how I had heard of them. He is newer to Ohio and really wanted to bring a different seafood experience to Toledo. I will go back for sure!
Well we decided to try it tonight, 4 strikes in a row.
hair on our salads
ovre a half hour wait for our dinners, we were told they were waiting for baked potatoes (which never showed up)
my wifes crab legs were cold
the drawn butter was rancid
don't think we will give it another chance.
Would of dump that on floor and walked out.

the "manager" we spoke to said dont worry about the bill, i said i wasn't.
the signage on that place is super weird
it's brand new / just opened
and it has this permanent "TEXT XXX TO XXXXXX FOR SPECIALS"
seems like an odd way to start a business
on the way out the door the hostess offered us a preferred customer discount card good for a 10% discount. i laughed so hard i think i scared her.
my husband and i ordered stuffed mushrooms, mussels, and mahi mahi. the mushrooms were small and expensive. actually, everything was kind of expensive for how small & horrible the food was. the decor has not changed since it was the ground round. the fabric on the booths are ripped. they did not achieve any type of atmosphere. i would consider it a bad, expensive experience.
jhop.....you shouldnt tell all that your wife has crab legs
I drive by there occasionally and was puzzled by their advertising. I get the text for specials and website but what got me was the sign advertising pork chops on special. I though to myself, gee, I've always wanted to go to a seafood place and order pork chops.

Between the reviews in this thread and this last sentence, this place doesn't seem like it's going to catch on anytime soon.....
When they add chicken tikka masala and potato latkes to the menu, then we'll all meet up there, 'K?

heard a call on the scanner the landlord had evicetd them and padlocked the building but they somehow were in the building
The landlords are the previous owners of the Ground Rounds - Harbs Brothers I believe.

Sidelines is going to open up in the former Ground Round location.
What did they do with the old Jed's / El Matadors behind it?

Given how many times some of those locations have turned over in the past few years, they might as well just turn them into strip clubs since they seem to stick in that area.
