Just noticed this place went out of business? Any reasons why?
I ate their when they first opened... okay, but not the best service

Just another franchised burger chain. I've seen 'em all over the country.
I'd guess the franchisee was in over his head; these places are usually pretty stable. And "gourmet burger" joints are all the rage now too, witness our board favorite Burger Bar 419
If you're into this "franchised" type of place, I'd suggest Red Robin above any Johnny Rockets.

They had one in the little strip of shops by sylvania and talmadge.
It was cool cause I thought it was like a 50's burger joint, but the food was a little pricey and not that good.
Still, shame to see they couldn't stay open.
Hate to admit eating there, but my experiences as the Perrysburg and toledo locations left a lot to be desired. Really dreadfull food with awful service.
It wasn't any better than a Wendy's, and cost twice as much. I went once, but never again.

The place by sylvania and talmadge was Johnny's Lunch. Johnny Rockets is inside the mall.
I'm guessing the location at Levis Commons failed due to a couple of factors... not enough foot traffic or maybe it just didn't gel with the overall mix of the center. The episode of Undercover Boss for Johnny Rockets said their #1 location is at Foxwoods Casino, where people are more captive and have limited dining options. The 1950s diner nostalgia may not have been enough to overcome run-of-the-mill food.
It died because of too much restaurant competition at Levis. For the same price, there are a lot better options out there.

The location inside Cedar Point is quite busy for the same reason. We always have a sit-down mean when we stay at Cedar Point, and sometimes go to that Johnny Rockets.
the one in the mall is closed too. the one in Monroe Mi closed last year.
Wait, Levis Commons? Closed food place? The manager wasn't Andrew Z, was it?
and thanks for the correction on the Johnny's Lunch. I did get the name wrong.
I feel like I've been living through 1950s nostalgia my whole life: Sha Na Na in the early 70s, Happy Days in the 70s-80s, Grease, costumes based on poodle skirts, drag races, sock hops etc. Then the retro "malt shoppes" and burger joints like Johnny Rockets. The 1950s is a theme for Christmas trees now ... I do wonder who's buying that stuff for the holiday season :-)
My sis pointed out that high school kids today have been living through continuous witchcraft/vampire/zombie themes during their years of social awareness.
As always, I wonder what the future will bring? Will the zombie idea eventually become some sort of restaurant experience?
The "real hamburger joint" from the 50's had a jukebox on the table and took a nickle for a song. Those were the good old days to me.
As far as the "retro style" now such the rage the old saw holds true. What goes around comes around.
