Arlington Elementary School

Hey Everyone, hopefully everyone is ready for 08.

As a South Toledo resident, I am sad to say the old Arlington Elementary School is being demolished to make way for a new one. I know that a new building is needed, and it will help educate students, but I hate to see the odl one go!

I would like to request a favor, If anyone has any pictures/stories about the old arlington, please send them or post the here. you can send them to me at jim021987@sbcglobal.net

Thanks, Jimmy

Jimmy, if you think that an old building with some character is an impediment to education in the classroom, then you are exactly the kind of fool that the TPS wants to keep voting for their levy "requests" (i.e. threats). You don't actually "know" a new building is needed; you were only TOLD it was, by a pack of crooks that needed to leverage more money from the public to assist in paying off the Construction Mafia in Ohio.

The TPS is going to defer maintenance on the new building just as much as on the old one, and soon enough, they'll cry like little babies and whine for a new building. If you can maintain a home and keep it going for a century, and the people in Europe are still using buildings after SEVERAL centuries since their construction, then there's something GREATLY WRONG with tearing down school buildings around the 50-yr mark (and LESS, considering Start H.S. was built in 1962).

I thought the new schools were designed to be airtight for year-round schooling efficiency and allow for proper disease airflow.

Eh, school's a fad.

Actually Guest Zero, Just an FYI, I not only went to that school, lived/live in that area, but taught at that school for several years.

So next time before getting defensive, and talking BS, maybe you're not the only one in the world who know's what the hell theyre talking about. All my post requested was pictures and stories. So if that's not it, mind your own damn business!

But Jimmy Boy, I AM minding my own business. You spoke out in public, and heeding such a call, I answered. Your refusal to accept my response only means that you don't realize that you don't run this site, and in order to control speech, you really need to open your OWN site.

So you imply that Arlington needed to be torn down? Want to discuss that? Or are you engaging in the usual avoidance behavior that the TPS Board and administration does on the very same topic?

The point is, there was nothing wrong with the schools that couldn't have been fixed with UNDEFERRED MAINTENANCE. Care to comment on that? Or is silence how you spread YOUR form of BS?

Gee whiz, GuestZero.... take a pill and calm down. All Jimmy wants are some pictures and stories.

That's the problem with speaking out; you often get more than you wanted, BC. He hee!

AMEN brain camp! I simply asked for pictures and stories, and got that! The problem with guestzero is he is so defensive about TPS and so negative and does not see the good (and yet bad) which TPS does. I have one question for Guest Zero... Why has he not run for TPS board or council? quick to comment, but is he even involved with tps... we have tons of volunteer ooportunites in the schools, and are always welcoming the willing to GET INVOLVED. So, my advice to guest zero... sit on the sidelines all you want and judge , get involved and look first hand what we do.. then BITCH!

So with that, if anyone has any stories or pictures please let me know. BECAUSE not only as a faculty memeber, but citizen of the city and the school system, I m involved and spend countless hours after school and during lunch hours helping the students. so GUEST Zero.. give up your lunch hour to help someone...or get involve and stop bitching..!
