Just a safety note, the story says she came home and noticed the door unlocked.
At this point, call friends, neighbors, and/or police. Do not enter house unless you are ready for confrontation.
And, as mentioned, lock and load.
An alarm system would have helped... with an alarm going off at least the guys wouldn't have hung around long enough for her to return and face them.

Too bad she didn't have a pistol? Since they were waiting for her, and had a gun pointed at her, I don't really see how her having a gun would have helped. As it stands now, property was stolen, but no one was hurt. If you put a gun in her hand when she walks through the door instead, we'd most likely be talking about a homicide instead of a burglary.

When you run the names on facebook, there is a William Barber in Cleveland on facebook who looks like him and also a DeAngelo from Cleveland but he doesnt have a photo.

Update: November 11, 2011 William Barber was spotted in Fostoria, OH, if you see him call the Fostoria Police at 419-435-8982
Does anyone know if there is a board similar to TT for Fostoria? Would be good to get the word out there as much as possible!

William Barber was busted in Philly -- doing what he knows best. He'll be back in Toledo to pay for his crimes soon enough.

At 18, unfortunately after a few years in jail, he still has a lot of time to commit more crimes. A better solution would be to tie his hands together, so he can't steal anything there, and toss him into Lake Erie just before it freezes.
If she had a pistol and the situational awareness to not just stroll in the front door, she could have dealt with these degenerates quickly. Recall the Toledo man last year who came home to the same situation, he killed one of the young animals. In fact he shot him in the back as he was trying to flee. GJ refused to indict, good shoot. The animal's mother whined to the Blade that her son is dead, but of course she has enabled the young thug all her life. It is better that he is in the ground.

Life rarely resembles an action movie. If she came in with a gun, I would think they would have shot her dead on the spot. The better thing to do is to turn around, go back out to your car and call the police. Or at least the OWE security.
But I am glad they caught this second guy. The victim is a friend of a friend and I am told the victim was relentless in pushing this case forward.

I carry everyday whenever I can but I'm not Rambo or a cop, if you ever come home to find someone robbing your car, do a 180 and get the funk out of Dodge. It might be cool the "sweep your home" of bad guys but your TV is not worth your life and if you choose to engage someone you might not like the legal ramifications. Unlike Michigan and some other "stand your ground" states, you have a duty to retreat in Ohio. Castle Doctrine does not give you the right to go headhunting.
A CHL is for your protection, not for you to be Judge Dredd.
