Who has the best burger in the Toledo area?

Who has the best burger in town? I just had Perrysburgers and it was really good. I still like Dale's in Maumee and Burger Bar 419 is great too. I haven't tried Bar 145 but I've heard its just okay from a few people.

Both times I had 145 burger it was like they put absolutely no seasoning on the beef. Would rather have 5 guys.

Smitty's on Detroit at Central, Super King, Big Yankee, Lil Hut Burger, Don's Trail Blazer, Holland House Moron Burger and the rest of the great ones that are long gone.

Now, the best is what you make at home.

Believe it or not - IHOP does a great burger. At least the Airport Hwy. one does. ( As to the terrorism/immigration raids etc., as far as I'm concerned its innocent until proven guilty.)

The burgers at Burger Bar 419 are very good. I think the food has gotten better since they opened.

We go to the South End Grille on Glendale quite often, and their burgers are delicious! They have burger specials on Wednesdays, and their onion rings and taters are also worth mentioning. I tell people about their burgers all of the time.

Five Guys is really good, but I have a sweet spot for Red Robin's Hawaiian burgers.

Still going with the hole in the wall bar Happy Hour on Eleanor!

I don't order a burger often when we go out. However, I have had good ones at Nick & Jimmy's before.

Also, I did like the burger I ate at Five Guys.

There's a hole in the wall bar in the plaza across from Miracle Mile that makes a really good burger. My husband and I stopped there once after someone recommended it to him. I'll be darned if I can think of the name of the place though.

I dont 5 Guys....meh. Lots of hype. They are good, just not that good.

Nick & Jimmy's is pretty good, or at least was last time I was there.

It hasn't been mentioned yet, but Secor Lanes has a great burger as well.

Mac and Tong's, the blue cheese burger. It was my favorite for a few years.

I don't really see the draw for 5 Guys personally. The last time I ate there I got terribly ill and I didn't even eat the greasy tub of fries.

Berger's Olde Tyme on Laskey is not bad.

Mom2, the burger place is "Berger's". Their burgers are very good.

On topic, the new owner at the Distillery spent a lot of time in the kitchen working on the food. I may be biased, but there's a double bacon burger that's become my favorite. I still socialize there frequently. If you see a big loud man near the bar drinking a Miller Lite, stop up and say hi. I'll buy you a beer. Will be there in 21 hours. Cheers.

Yes...Berger's has a good bar burger, too! I just ate dinner and I'm hungry again....

Felt I had to put this on another thread that dealt with the best wings in town and at the risk of sounding like a snarling, lecturing, repetitive sumbitch, I want all posters to drop and give it 25 push-ups and 25 sit-ups before proceeding further. Vote in order of preference 1.) Nick+Jimmy's 2.)Dale's 3.)Five Guys. All cheeseburgers in paradise.

The problem is, every time anyone even dares to talk about closing loopholes, people start screaming class warfare. But yes, most of the loopholes affect the rich and corporations. The middle and lower class simple don’t have enough income to even think about taking advantage.

My homemade bacon burgers. 8-) Greek seasoning and parsley, spiced turkey bacon (spiced with paprika and steak burger seasoning), red onions, and tomatoes.

I second (or third?) the burgers at Dales. I'm the same as mom2 - I need to give the Grumpy burger a try. Hard to pass up the Garbage Salad, however!

I like the burgers at City Hall on Reynolds.I also like the burgers at Dales in Maumee, but I wish they had more flavor.I think they are bland at times. Also, I think the burgers at the Black Pearl on Heatherdowns are also good, but you need to order them a little more done than what you might normally request. They tend to under cook sometimes.Moes in Rossford is another one we like.

Nick and Jimmy's if you want it at dinner with a beer. Grumpy's is even better than N&J's, if you can make it downtown during weekday lunch hour (which we unfortunately rarely can do).

Not to be argumentative but I have to disagree with Nick and Jimmy's. I understand they are a "home team" and nice atmosphere but $7.49 for a bacon burger plus .75 cents for cheese and a 20% tip brings you up to $10 for a Bacon burger with cheese??? Come on... Are you serious? If I'm spending $10 for a baconburger with cheese it better be really good. I mean, I can grab a pretty nice porterhouse steak at the butcher for that price. Also, the last time I ordered a burger at N & J's I had to specify that they please add the garnish or they bring it without. (Lettuce, tomato and such) - I did not find anything at all special about Nick and Jimmy's - sorry.

If you are talking pure taste and value - Five Guys blows away Nick and Jimmy's. If you want atmosphere Nick and Jimmy's is more relaxing. But this is about the burger - not the atmosphere. I have yet to try Berger's place there on Laskey which is referenced above but I have heard it is very good and it is on my to do list.

I would one day like to try the Big Kahuna Burger - I have heard it really is a tasty burger.

I very much enjoyed the burger I had at Burger Bar 419, but I've only been there once, so... the one I had at Bar 145 was good, though I did attribute that to my choice of toppings and not so much to the burger itself.

We enjoy Berger's and the Happy Hour as well, but our favorite "bar burger" is from The Four Horsemen on Lewis. Plus they have waffle fries, which I love.

To end the suspense: The Big Kahuna is a fictional burger chain invented by Quentin Tarrantino and referenced in a bunch of his films. The Big Kahuna Burger was featured most prominently in Pulp Fiction (click link for the scene; unfortunately I cannot find a video capable of being embedded):

Do you mean to tell me that i wasted prodigious amounts of salivation on a work of fiction? Shame on you mike, this does nothing to dispel urban myths and further denigrates the credulity of the world wide web as a source of truth and empirical enlightenment.
