Movies Revisited on BluRay - Bladerunner

So I've been watching a few old favorites on my new BD player and have been, for the most part, pleasantly suprised and impressed. I pooh-poohed the BluRay concept at first, but I must say that it really is an improvement over standard DVD's. So I watched the director's cut of Bladerunner from the library the other night and all I can say is wow... much higher quality than I remember in the theater even.

More significantly though, was the way the movie has held up for being 25+ years old. Most futuristic sci-fi movies tend to look dated after a few years, either in the "vision" or in the special effects. Not so with this puppy. It looked like it could have been made just a year or two ago.

I will have to admit though that Edward James Olmos as an Asian cop is a little more than cheesey.
