This profile is for the University of Toledo Ice Hockey team and will be used to help promote and inform others about the team.
For those that aren't aware, our club is a competitive, non-varsity team made up of 25 full time student-athletes representing the university. The team competes in the American Collegiate Hockey Association, Division II, currently as a member of the Midwest Collegiate Hockey League. As such, we compete against teams from other colleges and universities such as the University of Michigan, Robert Morris College, and Bowling Green State University. Annually, we play approximately 30 games against these schools as well as many others both in Ohio and throughout the Midwest.
However, because we are only a club sport, we are not funded, promoted by, or run by the UT athletic department. We are a student organization run mostly by our student-athletes with the help of our coaches, some support staff, and several advisors at the UT Rec Center.
